ABOUT

Marketing guru, legal scholar, and gifted communicator, Stephen Reily lives to find marketplace gaps and opportunities for new consumer offerings – and he loves turning people and companies who think like he does into IMC’s long-lasting partners. Looking for a way to connect his legal background with a passion for new products, in 1997 Stephen co-founded IMC as a brand licensing agency that has represented major companies like Kraft Foods, S.C. Johnson, Wrigley, and Abbott Labs, and dozens of iconic brands like Dole, Valvoline, Philosophy, Milk-Bone, and TABASCO. He writes frequently for MediaPost and brandchannel.com, has published articles in BRANDWEEK, and has been an award-winning speaker at leading industry events including the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the National Retail Federation (NRF) Big Show, Book Expo America, the American Society for Aging (ASA), and M2W® – The Marketing to Women Conference. Based on frustration with his own clients’ refusal to invest in some of their most profitable and loyal consumers (women 45+), Stephen launched a new product offering himself: VibrantNation.com, now the leading online community for those vibrant women 45+ and a network of influential women who activate and engage millions of their peers on blogs and social media. Stephen serves on the Advisory Board of the Licensing Journal, where for three years he wrote a monthly column on corporate trademark licensing. He has served as an officer of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA), the trade organization of the licensing industry, and is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES). A former corporate attorney, Stephen graduated from Yale College, summa cum laude, and from Stanford Law School, after which he clerked for Justice John Paul Stevens of the U.S. Supreme Court. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife and three children.
