what would you do if your purse was “snatched”?Why not make your purse a DECOY instead of a JACKPOT!!

Today as I was getting out of my vehicle, I saw one of the employees, that I knew , i started to wait for her to walk in but she went back into her car so i went inside a minute later she  came in out of breath!! her hand bleeding and scrapped, calling out for a police officer. I went out side as another employee came in and toward me and said a certain vehicle left speeding, I jumped in my vehicle and she jumped in with me,we followed the vehicle , and was able to get the tag number, It was quite an experience, and could have been a dangerous decision,,, but I followed my spirit and it worked out OK, they ended up throwing her purse out and the police due to our info was able to trace the second vehicle that they made a switch in.( It was a 20 minute chase, even went into a parking lot of a police sub- station, courthouse, and sheriff station..not a police was in sight of our speeding and trailing….WHERE IS THE POLICE WHEN YOU NEED ONE!!(lol).

I am telling you this story because we as women cary too many un-neccessary important papers in our purses,to many credit cards, SS cards, bills, the victim was devastated because her purse held her life, We need to rethink the use of a purse, I think it should be a “DECOY” and we should have a way to carry a small wallet, cellphone and keys on our person,

When this happens call your bank immediately and stop checks and bank card.

Keep important phone numbers saved on your computer and send them to your email folder so you can access them where ever you are,

I don’t plan to ever chase any robber again….but i thought about how tired I am of people taking what others work so hard to have, So please don’t do what I did but do rethink what you carry in your purse, she even had her keys in her purse, remember make your purse a DECOY  not a JACKPOT!!

Must have been a terrifying ordeal!  Can’t imagine.  Thanks for the great suggestions here.  I lost my small wallet last October.  Lucky for me an honest person found it.  He called my ex, the only phone number I had were from old checks, and I easily got it back.  I had already cancelled a few cards before I got it back.  I now carry two major cards on me and have put an updated I.D. phone number in my wallet.

On my first big trip I was walking around the city carrying one of those reusable grocery bags.  I did not look like a tourist, just someone shopping around.  In it I had my wallet, camera, water, sunsreen, lunch and maps.  I rarely took out my wallet since I had spare money and credit cards tucked in one of my front pant pockets.

Thanks , the good idea about the shopping bag. I feel a DECOY purse would be a good way to go since most people always have to have Id and some cash, we women, you know carry much more,we look kind of suspicious without a purse, a small one with unimportant things would be great .

I used to carry a fanny pack.  It was small and hooked around my waist.  Its not practical to wear it to work. If we could find something that was easy to put on our person and then keep the purse for all the other necessary junk, it might be better.   Maybe something the size a of concealed weapon case.
