All three are good. And I’ve done all three in the last month.  No real preference.  Although FREE is good.

Are you suggesting one is better than another?  Do you teach something via webinar?

      Catharine,

Just wondering how our 50+ community is learning on the Internet.  It is great to see you are using all the tools.  It is fun and easy and FREE IS the best!   I do teach some online classes through webinars.  Giving one on Linkedin for Realtors tomorrow and wondering how my peers are learning.

wow I am so sorry I missed this comment yesterday.  Can you email me on VW?

I am discovered Lindedin is a powerful search tool.  I’d love to know how best to use it.

I just learned just enough to buy about 10 domain names.  One of them I will use, the others are only so that my competition can’t use them :)

Then I went to register the names on a web host site.  That’s as far as I’ve gotten so far.

I’ve tried to use the recommended WordPress for blogging, but for some reason it will not install on my computer…….that’s were I got frustrated and gave up.

I was following a group on facebook called realestateweb tools?  they post almost daily.  I signed up for their 30 day beta program on learning and setting up all the best web tools, paid the fee, and nothing on their site would work for me either.  Very frustrating, not being able to log into their 30 day web tools learning curve.  We worked on it for days, and couldn’t get past the log in problems.

Anyway……….yes, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, web pages, blogging.  I want it all.

Email me a link or something………..I’d love to hear your webinar if still available.

I’d say, just experiment. You won’t break the computer.

How to handle the privacy issues with Google indexing, etc?  I’ve closed accounts and reopened them with less soul bearing and masking the identity, but I wish I could be more open without worrying about my job or professional reputation being hindered. We have an expression “Privacy, bake it in, don’t bolt it on.”  I think the social media thing blew up so big we forgot to bake in important privacy issues.

      Dr. She,

I think there is a serious problem with transparency and privacy on the Internet.. If privacy is a concern then I would NOT be posting things on the Internet… the google indexing will get you!

I agree.  It’s a balancing act. I work for one of those ABC agencies so I have to be careful what I post. But I love this social media genre.  Just look at the fabulous people we get to meet that we would not otherwise know because of geographical limitations.

Also, I want to start doing things to build for my “retirement” career that will happen in another 10 years. That career bleeds social media connections.  It’s a balancing act for sure.  Thank goodness I’m a Gemini!

        :-)
