PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY

This was written by me for a response after I posted this link onto my facebook page… thought you might all read it.

If you know me at all you will know that I agree that this is NOT an Obama problem. It is in fact something that started many generations ago. There are records of the US debt starting back in Washington’s times, I have suspec…ted for years that we might still be trying to pay off the interest on that debt along with all the others that have built up faster and faster over every generation of this country.

You’re right again, Nancy, that my generation like every of these generations were brought up either believing in the rightness of or closing their eyes to this mounting debt being considered OK and right. It isn’t the way my parents brought e up BUT I understand that the nation on a whole was brought up this way. There has always been a ‘good’ reason for increasing it too. War, bailouts, patching the economic holes, work programs, better schools and I could go on for hours as could we all.

Today right now Obama is the one ‘in the hot seat’ and he has made promises to ‘make a difference’, ‘change everything’ during his administration. In my opinion it is foolhardy promise from ANY ONE man’s mouth. The best anyone can do at this point is to try to direct the people of this country to want and do the right things to start to cut the debts by cutting their own, their States by not expecting to be handed everything and the countries. Today ‘men/women’ think they have to have just the right job, the one only one they have worked for years at for them to label it ‘worthwhile’ or of any importance. They wouldn’t work at something lesser than where they put themselves on the spectrum… I was raised with the belief that “any job, as long as it in moral and legal is worthwhile, honorable and should be done to the best a person knows how’. In other words, going into the fields and harvesting the food that goes on our tables IS just as honorable, important, worthwhile as is the corporate leader who runs the company. More important when you realize that without the harvesters the corporate big wigs would be ‘shit out of luck’ without a job and without food.

Mr. McNaughton’s point includes this in my opinion. He does include the other presidents in the problem. But I look at the man sitting on the bench as someone who is, yes, overcome by the problems our nation is having. The point of verbiage for his message leaves out an important part of this. I also see a man who has his eyes closed and who is sitting hunched over as if he is about to give up and give in to any ones supposed solutions to the problems. His (the common man, you and I) responsibility is to stand up, vote for the best men/women to help change the laws, then roll up our personal sleeves and dig in. Cut our own spending, work at the work we can get and be honored by it, waste not want not, bend down and pick up the constitution if no one else will do it, put our chins up and GET to WORK. Anyone including me that doesn’t try to help solve the problems are adding to them. Who ever came up with the notion of ‘entitlement for all’ is a fool. There will be no easy solutions.

OK I’m off my soap box now…for a while.

Great post Lacey… my teaching was what ever you set your hand to do do it with all your heart ..as well as what ever you want from a person be sure to give the same…that lesson has saved us many times doing the time of the oil company downfall in the early eighties …that attitude saved our home our car and our marriage..we painted, we cut trees, we haul trashed, we clean homes , we wallpapered..I have people 25 years later still calling sometime to see if we are back in business? I have pride in what is honest..and there is no easy solutions!!
