It’s never too late to start something new.  Good for you and good luck.  What are you thinking you’d like to do?

I like science, and currently I’m in genetics with over 20 years of experience. The problem that I see with any new profession is the pay level. I will have to start at the base as inexperience level. I’m not sure I can afford that at my age. Do you have any suggestions? Do you know of any careers that will start with reasonable salaries at entry levels?

Entry level positions even with a Bachelor’s degree are still entry level — bottom of the payscale.  If you want to stay in the sciences, go online and see what type of jobs are available with your experience.  Maybe you’d only need a small amount of training to enter a new aspect of genetic science.  You know what’s funny about starting something new?  We usually have never noticed the opportunities out there till we start looking.  Here’s hoping that you find some doors to open and walk through.  Good luck.  Keep us posted.
