Hi – I just want to offer words of advice for anyone out there who is getting intimidtated by some jerk employer about getting unemployment benefits.
I had been collecting several months and the employer wanted to try to stop it. Emplopyer hire a company called TALX (it sounds like talk).
They hire them to deny benefits. That is their job. If I would have lost I would have had to pay pay the state…so I was further ahead of the game by getting an attorney. Hated to do it but I had to FIGHT for what was MINE.
The bottomline is don’t let these jerks do this to you. You can DO it on your own and appeal it yourself. HOWEVER, as it was explaned to me by my attorney. She has had clients come to her crying the blues after they tried to do it themselves and there was nothing she can do! It is wiser to get legal counsel if you find yourself in a position that I was in. What jerks! I guess they figured out they had no leg to stand on and backed off. I got a call from the state at the attorney’s office..that the employer withdrew their case. FIGHT PEOPLE! DON’T LET ANYONE SCREW YOU!!!!!

Let me tell you I have been the type of person that hates to fight and hates conflict…I am a go along and get along kind of gal that EVERYBODY loves to be around. This jerk supervisor I had that was 23 just tried to ride me any way she could..I am loving and kind…a Mother Therese kind of woman. She was threatened by me and that is too bad..she is young and she has much to learn.
