I went back to school when I was 42 and got my BA when I was 46. I loved the experience because the most I had done was graduate from HS. What degree are you trying to complete? I can remember the first class I took after so many years in school, it was an English class. I was so nervous the first day and much to my surprise there were other people there that were my same age! It was very encouraging. I received my degree from a State University but I tried to take a class from a large University – talk about nervous! The first and only day of that class I left my car door open – not just unlocked – I mean it was totally open! Needless to say I couldn’t go back to that class. Enjoy your experience.
First of all, good for you! You are still young yet, so go do your best and watch as you shine. The people you will encounter will help inspire you. All walks of life, from around the world, at least in New York…TRACK
I went back to university at age 57 for one semester. I loved every minute of it. What I couldn’t handle was how exhausted I was. Getting home at 10 PM at night 2 nights a week, because one of my classes was in the evening.
But I wouldn’t have missed the experience for the world. If I wanted to go back, I would live on campus.
