Do you know about Groupon yet? Hot Conversation

It’s a fresh (online) take on group buying. From massage to sailing lessons, we can get deep discounts on local deals on products and services when enough of us choose to buy a special offer within a limited time frame.

Last month, Groupon attracted two million U.S. visitors. I’ve already enjoyed the savings and the ease of buying two deals at Groupon.

I love my Groupon too. Have been getting them right from the start up in my area. There are other types of that same thing but so far I like the Groupon approach much better. To get on their list just go to Groupon.com and sign up and it is FREE !!!

Thank you Kare Anderson for this information.  Too bad I did not know about Groupon before yesterday since I just bought tickets to NYC.  Just a note before purchasing:  log in and read the discussions so you know to avoid the pitfalls and have a general idea of what you need to do.  No business can EVER accommodate EVERYONE so I think it’s our responsibility to make sure we get what we expect/want.

Haven’t yet check all the discounts available.

    Thanks Kare!

love GROUPON, and LivingSocialDeals and TANGA.

They send 1 email a day with an offer.  note, if you like the offer, grab it… they can expire or run out…

I love Groupon! So many companies send you emails constantly, but I can count on Groupon to only send me one morning email during the week days.

I’ve enjoyed “Groupon” right from the start of its introduction to Atlanta, having previewed its offerings to the Chicago area & enviously anticipated taking advantage of such terrific deals before its arrival in my area. My first thought was “What a novel idea” & “how original”. Groupon’s novelty must be appealing as other copy-cat versions began popping up all over & continue to do so. I like that Groupon has a “side deal of the day”, too. And that deals offered over the weekend are available all weekend until midnight on Sundays when a new deal is revealed to start the week off. Incidentally, if you are only interested in Groupon for the area in which you live, that’s all well and good, but did you know that you can sign up for Groupon in other areas, too? Or you can log in to Groupon in another area and make purchases there? This is a wonderful way to take advantage of what Groupon has to offer in a different area particularly if you are going to be vacationing in the area (dinner deals are great or perhaps a spa deal will be available, theatre tickets, etc.) and it’s also a great way to give a gift to someone you care about, be it friends or family members, or perhaps business associates. Another upside to this is that it won’t cost you postage or shipping to send the gift since Groupon certificates are delivered electronically! How great is that?! I personally enjoy the Groupon emails that do only come one time a day. There is something different offered every day. I can’t possibly take advantage of each & every one of them but I like that the option is available. Granted some offers just don’t appeal to me at all (sky-diving lessons, a 20 min helicopter ride over a mountain next door, belly dancing, etc.) but others do (spa deals, salon hair color/cut deals, restaurants, bicycle tours, among many others). If you are skeptical at all about the validity of the deals, or what is being offered, you can see “completed deals” and read comments & feedback provided by people who have purchased Groupon offer(s), & you can also contact Groupon directly via phone or email. You get a real person responding back – talk about “novel”. This I have experienced. If you ever encounter any problems, Groupon handles it for you. Let them know, and it’s taken care of without a lot of hassle on your part. Groupon wants customers to be satisfied and to be repeat customers. A good time to take advantage of Groupon is before Thanksgiving and during Christmas and after New Year’s. Some of the best deals were offered during this past holiday season, & at a time when most of us were looking for something unique, outside-of-the-box, personal, personable gifts at prices that wouldn’t break the bank. Groupon delivered. Oh, and Groupon even has a section asking for suggestions so if there is some place or thing you’ve been wanting to try but are waiting/hoping to find a discount beforehand, contact Groupon via email and make the suggestion – I haven’t done this but assume they will do all the leg work, making the appropriate phone calls, & contacts to solicit & encourage your suggested place or thing to participate on Groupon & who knows, you might just get what you ask for, too. Well, they aren’t paying me for this commentary, and I surely won’t get anything for free so I will stop here and hope that for some of you who do not know about “Groupon” you have found my comments informative &/or helpful. Enjoy today and look forward to each new vibrant tomorrow, Ladies.

Daughter turned me onto Groupon over the holidays when we went to a fabulous veggie restaurant in Chicago. I’ve since bought a few myself: restaurant we just went to while she was visiting from Boston; plus once she gets back to Chicago in May, we’ll be going sometime to a comedy performance downtown. I LOVE them!!!

We bought 3 Groupons for Kayaking here in Florida, they were due to expire on March 23rd but the company extended it for 2 more months because the weather here in Florida has been crappy.  We bought 3 groupons for the cost of 1 full price.  We plan on using them soon.
