DING DONG – THE BI^(*%^ IS GONE!!!! – NOW MAYBE I CAN RELAX AND ENJOY THIS JOB!!!! Hot Conversation

I made it!!!  There were times I thought I’d kill this b*()_, but I didn’t.  I did do something that I’m not proud of (which I’ll never tell) – but I had to let off steam or punch her heart out (literally).  And for all you who want to judge me out there – I went through hell from the very first day I walked in the front door with these two – so unless you’ve walked in my shoes I don’t wish to hear from you.  I even discovered yesterday that they “neglected” to put me into their security system so that I could have access to the building when I first came here.  I had to wait for my boss to let me in.  Oh well – now maybe things will calm down here and I can relax and enjoy this job.  I plan on making it “MINE’S.”

P.S.:  I just met the other young lady who worked here and was unfortunately let go – her name is Jennifer – and I can truly say that of the three of them she is the nicest person.  She was friendly, open, lauging, answered any questions I might have had, etc.  So it just goes to show – some people DO KNOW HOW TO HANDLE JOB TRANSITIONS.

Well done (except for that which you don’t want to tell us, but which we would probably agree with you on anyway)…..hopefully you can enjoy the weekend and regroup and exhale on Monday…..I have worked for and with some truly miserable people…..so plan a nice enjoyable evening for yourself tonight, glass of wine, bubble bath, yummy dinner, you earned it!!

P.S.  Their behavior was very strange tho’ don’t you think?  Like Dr. Phil says, I wonder what their payoff was for being so uncooperative etc.?  I just see no reasoning behind it I guess….why not just train the new person and get out of there!?

Well – it was childish – what I did – but she made me sooooo mad. What happened was on Monday I asked her about a silly valentine’s day card she had sitting there since she was clearing her things away.  She got nasty as all get-up and an argument insued because I had had it!!!  After she left I took great pleasure in tossing the card in the trash.  The next day she had the nerve to ask me if I had seen it.  Of course — I had no idea where it was and it gave me great pleasure to see her tearing the office apart trying to find it.  Andrea told me she was VERY UPSET about it and I told Andrea “Shit happens”  and maybe if she had been a nicer person to me I would have at least been willing to help her “look” for the card. Truth be told, if she had been nicer to me the card would never had been touched, much less thrown out.  This character had the nerve to ask me if I looked for the card this morning as it was her last day – my response – NO!!!  I know this was childish and stooping to her level, but it was either that or something more drastic and I don’t relish jail.

I know this sounds childish, but I’ve been singing the theme from The Wizard of Oz – Ding  Dong the Witch is Dead – all afternoon since she left.  I’ve been clearing out the stuff she left behind (actually throwing it out) and humming.  It feels WONDERFUL!!!

well if it interest you, I was approached last summer by a company to come and do a blow condo rental market building for a couple of months.   I negotiated a great hourly rate plus commission.   However, the miserable old hag who actually micro managed their office made my life so miserable I just got up and left.  Who needs that crap?

I came to the conclusion that she was so threatened by me she’d do anything and I mean anything to make things as difficult for me as possible.   I just walked out.  I had the option.   She was somebodies mother in the company or something.

And it started with her assinine system of filing the different colored post it notes.  lol.  HER WAY!

I just whipped out my laptop and made very short work  of a contact management base, and sold circles around her, and looked like a million dollars, as I should!   She just couldn’t hack it.  I don’t think I’ve ever met a more miserable human being as she was.

So I have totally got what you said with this work experience.  Hopefully now that the witch is gone, you can indeed turn this into YOUR JOB!  Good on ya!

    Hi persimian,

Feeling good about yourself and feeling bad at the same time.  Been there done that!  Feels odd, doesn’t it?

Oh well, as you said so yourself ‘Shit happens’.    You are only human and I figure us humans can only take so much shit!  Sometimes we have to shovel it back to the sender.

    Congrats on hanging in there!

well, keep us posted.   I would of thrown out more than the card.  Great you did not walk out, that would mean they won.  You are tough, you are strong.  Show them your stuff and even when you are pissed, smile and pretend you are in the Bahamas having a bahama mama.   That would be the best revenge.

Sunblossom:  Today was GREEAAAATT!!!  My “desk partner” for lack of a better word, wasn’t there today and the woman who was training me is  NO LONGER THERE!!!  I was in my element and able to relax for the very first time since starting this job and therefore able to show those who hired me – THEY DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE!!!  I’m going to thank God for this job and to the very best I can to keep it.  My question now:  how do we help the other VNs who are out of work longterm and want so desperately to work?  I really wish I knew the answer to that one.

Wonderful…I also had some interesting news yesterday….I don’t know if you were around when I had interviewed for a job at a magazine that I really, really, wanted…was totally qualified for etc…..it was a difficult situation trying to get the interview and ultimately they hired someone 29 y.o….this was around Easter, and found out yesterday that the two people they hired were already laid off….so my not being hired for what I thought was going to be such a great job turned out to be a blessing in disguise…..scary tho’ b/c I really that this job was “it” and I was willing to leave my current job of 11 years to take it…..it has really given me pause to think about whether I even know what is good for me any more…..

Sunblossom:  I do remember that.  Believe it or not I was rooting for you to get the job.  Maybe the people who were laid off weren’t up to snuff for the job.  It just goes to show – with age comes wisdom and know-how.  Now if the idiots who run human resources could see that the world would be a much easier place.

Right….even before I found out I did not get the job, I started having bad vibes from the owners…..I didn’t feel they were very mature (after I Facebooked them and saw they were party people with a capital P, among other things)…..some stuff didn’t add up, so in a way I wasn’t surprised….it was just such a cool job…..(of course after working in a church for 11 years, most anything seems like a cool job!!)

That’s the thing about the internet now.  You can find out anything about anybody.  It works BOTH WAYS!!!  Sometimes companies need to take this into consideration as well when they are advertising for personnel.  Keep trying, I’m sure eventually something willcome your way.
