The trend of more women in management started long ago when a couple could no longer live on one income.  Back then the women were in clerical/secretary type positions.  For decades, through our eyes as the secretary, we watched the men perform their duties from their office, from the bar or restaurant where they were schmoozing, from the long meeting where they tried to iron out problems but only ended up tootin their own horn, or checking in from the golf course.  The fact of the matter, the secretaries actually ran the business and often made decisions in the absence of their boss.  So the next couple of decades we all got smart and went back to school for degrees that would put us  in the leadership role because we knew that we could do it better.  The skills we possess as women transfer very easily to the work place.  The skills we learned as mothers made us more than qualified to be consensus builders, promote loyalty, improve desire to do a good job and thus happier workers.  And from having to live on one salary for so long we became financial/budget experts.  Now tell me what’s not to understand about this change in the workplace?  Unless, of course, you’re a man!!!!
