changing careers

I have been a hairstylist for 30 years.  I have owned my own business, worked as an independent contractor, and worked for a few salons.  I have 25 years of faithful clients who have stuck by me all of these years.  Problem is, due to an accident, I am unable to work as long or as quickly as I used to, so no one wants me in a salon because I no longer bring down the big bucks of which they get 50%. I am trying to find a new job and go to school, but no one wants to hire me because it looks like I job hopped, even though my clients have always followed me.  I can’t even collect unemployment so I am truly in a bad way.  How can I write a resume that shows all of my experience and makes me look like a loyal (and dependable, which I am) employee?
