The best advice I ever got was from a friend whose life was all but ruined after a nasty divorce.
She told me to toughen up, postpone my tears and concentrate on getting financially stable. There will be plenty of time to grieve after you figure out how to put food on the table for yourself and your children.
She was absolutely right.

Yes I have thick legs with thick ankles, my Dad's! Tights the same color as the dress or bone shoes with bare legs. Not a straight skirt and never patterned stockings or leggings!
Two issues (I hope). I must must take umbrage with the phrase "be ashamed until....." BE ASHAMED??? of what, when, where?? Never. It is impossible to be a child of God -- whole and perfect and be ashamed. When has shame ever 
That is good advice, but in this economy (which is the ideal time to get a divorce I might ad) for the dumper anyway. I have been going through mediation and my stbx lost his job back in April and says he’s been trying to find another.
When you have attorneys and mediators telling you, you can’t bleed a turnip you really don’t have many options.
So ladies if you are thinking about a divorce and he still has a job. Put in the papers, cause once he’s out of work. You’re out of luck.
