1. Sephora.com
From 217happy1 in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I buy a lot of the time on the web for Sephora. I have come to an age that I really only want to purchase things that work.”
From Fran Young
“I love Sephora for the free samples always sent AND especially like the fragrances called 7 Deadly Sins — discovered it when I googled “dark chocolate” and found Excess from this collection. It’s a wonderfully seductive scent.”
From debbie-deb
“I’ve found that if there is a product in the store I like (i.e. eye cream), they’ll give a nice ‘tub’ sample. Also, anything that I’ve ordered online from them is easily returnable to any store or you can send it back. Actually, not too long ago I was in search of a new blush. I used Sephora online, saw several different brands/colors etc. that I liked and ended up ordering 11 of them! I like trying out new make-up in the privacy of my home and in different lighting. When the box arrived 5 days later, I tried each and every one, settled on two and sent the rest back. My money was refunded–no problem.”
2. Drugstore.com
From Deanie in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I buy most of my cosmetics from drugstore.com. I usually buy Avalon Organics and Reviva products. They are a bit less than in the health food stores and I can easily re-order online and pay a flat shipping fee if I order enough money’s worth.”
3. EyesLipsFace.com
From cobrateacher in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I love the quality and especially the priced at ELF (Eyes, Lips, Face) Most of their products are only $1 each, and the mineral products are usually $5. I’ve often gotten free shipping or discounts, too. I wouldn’t bother if the quality weren’t truly wonderful!”
4. Avon.com
From Gramma in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I agree with you! 20 years with Avon and using their products… people say I look at least 5 years younger than I am…haha! They have been around for 100 plus years and keep up with everything else sold out there…For your money , they are the best deal and have products for every age catagory or problem….=]”
5. Arbonne.com
From terri enck in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I have been using Arbonne as well for about 4 years now . . . It changed my skin from “brittle” to “dewy” according to my esthetician. Those are her words not mine.”
6. Ebay.com
From Pamela4 in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I buy my favorite makeup brands on e-bay. E-bay sellers can only sell new makeup so everything is new. I like Lancome Defincils mascara and I get it on e-bay for $9.99. I love Jane Airdale Mineral Makeup and I get it on e-bay. Recently, I spotted a Bobbi Brown “Summer Nudes” eyeshadow tray that included 8 shadows at Macy’s but it was $64. Not happening. I got it on e-bay for $34.99.”
7. It Works.net
From EllieC in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I use the slimming applicators from It Works and the defining gel which reduce inches around the waist and hips and I use the facial applicators which reduce crow’s feet and other wrinckles along with the anti-aging creams to keep my facial skin looking young and healthy.”
8. Amazon.com
From Kathryn.Ryder in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I am 53 and have used EVE LOM cleanser for years which I now order online through Amazon.Com
– I use Creme de la Mer for a night cream which I also order online through Amazon.”
9. DHCCare.com
From Jean T in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“My choice is DHC. It is a Japanese company that has some really great skincare products. I use very little in the way of cosmetics because of highly sensitive skin. As with almost all companies, there are many products I do not use, but the ones I really like work well for me. I like their “Eye Bright” (I also have very dry eyes and my lids are frequently cracked; this is something that does not irritate), the “velvet skin coat” as an under-mineral-makeup base, and the Co-Q10 hand cream. … I also like their eyebrow pencil – just fine enough for me, then the ‘powder’ to soften it. This is the only online company I use for cometics.”
10. Artistry.com
From Susann in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“…great aspects of Artistry skin care…
1. Love it or return it guarantee, no questions asked, and no return shipping!
2. No shipping charges on orders of $75 or more!!!
3. If you want the finest products at the lowest price, this is the place!!! I’ve researched and researched and can’t find anything better for sure!!!”
From lindahawaii
“I really love the skin care and makeup from Artistry the best. I have sensitive skin and haven’t had any allergic reaction to the Artistry products. I did with a couple of the other ones. And now that I am 55, I like the formulations of some of the Artistry makeup and skin care that helps with age repair. Plus if you try something and you don’t like it, you can return it and get your money back which you can’t do with the other over the counter cosmetic companies.”
11. BareMinerals.com
From dbeth52 in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I buy my BareMinerals make-up from Sephora, QVC, or BareMinerals site. Whichever has the best deal. Over the years, I have tried lots….drugstore brands, Avon, Arbonne, MaryKay, etc., but BareMinerals works the very best for me. No breakouts, no T-zone shine after a few hours like with all others, and my face looks and feels great.”
12. FragranceNet.com
From dewdropinn2003 in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I have been buying my perfumes at FragranceNet. They have a wonderful variety of fragrances and the prices are great. They also arrive very quickly and with coupons off for your next order.”
13. LaurenHutton.com
From lv1958 in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“I use Lauren Hutton’s makeup. I love it because there are no “sparkles” in it, for one thing, and it’s very natural looking. I tried Bare Minerals and Sheer Cover, but they both make my pores look horribly huge (and I don’t have bad-looking pores when I don’t have makeup on!)”
14. Lily’sApothecary.com
From Capecod52 in Where do you buy cosmetics online?
“Just found Lily’s Apothecary in Plymouth, MA, and now won’t go anywhere else!”

I love BeautiControl skin care. Have been using it for over 20 years and people don’t believe me when I tell them my real age of 56!! They usually guess at least 10 years younger. Quality is excellent and product line is great. You do need to find an independent consultant however — kind of like Mary Kay. Just Google BeautiControl and you should get the address for the website. From there you should be able to find a consultant near you or perhaps you can order right from the website!

Paula’s Choice!( http://www.cosmeticscop.com/) Paula Begoun is a genius! Her niche is incredible skn care products at reasonable prices, as well as some makeup. She debunks all the myths of the cosmetics industry and even rates and recommends other products. She has books and a Beautypedia (http://www.beautypedia.com/)where you can get the latest reviews of numerous products and cosmetics lines.
Awesome Ladies I have bookmarked a bunch of theses sites and you can be sure i will try them out ..the prices seem good and living a few hours from the city it will make life easier to be able to buy on line!
I love to buy anything online. Point and click shopping. I use Sheer Cover and can select what I want and when I want it. I don’t even have to remember to order it, they do it all. Standing order of replacement product. Love it!
Mary Kay Cosmetics. It’s been the No. 1 cosmetic and skin care company in the nation for over 14 years. It’s an economical ‘high-end’ product. Try before you buy. 100% buy back if need to change, trade, or just want your money back. The proof is self-evident in the results I’ve had for nearly 20 years. Lately, people have asked if I lost weight (I WISH!). The reason? I’m using their newest product, Serum +C, a topical collegan product that absolutely has made my skin look tighter and younger. The furrow lines I’ve had between my eyebrows have all but disappeared. Try it out. I should know. I’ve been an independent consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 10 years.
I use exclusively Mary Kay skin care and cosmetics. Mary Kay’s Time Wise Anti-Aging proucts have made a huge difference in the texture and firmness of my skin.
The site I use focuses on antiaging at its source and not only on the skin but for the whole body. I have never felt so great.
Shelby, I lean more towards the wholistic approach too. Can you share the name of your site?

Ditto on the Motives by Loren Ridinger. The Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation is the absolute best!! Try it; I think you’ll like it. I’m not a cosmetics guru (I became a distributor for the excellent nutritional and anti-aging supplements), but finding this foundation has made me a believer.
Or if you have a cosmetics line that you swear by, see if you can find it through my (or another Market America distributor’s) portal. You’ll get 2% cash back in addition to whatever discounts you’re already getting from the online store. Now, isn’t that the bomb!
Either way, Motives by Loren Ridinger or a line you just can’t leave

Visit the site. You’ll LOVE their cosmetics. Of course I’m prejudiced about the product because I sell the products, but I wouldn’t sell them if I didn’t believe in them. And Yes Ladies: I DO USE THE PRODUCTS myself!!!

I have bought Yves Rocher for years, works for me. Oh dear the “I buy my fragrances from..” really alarmed me. Many of us can’t take the fragrance business anymore. I have had to move in restaurants, suffered through theater performances and had to leave aisles in supermarkets because of “frangrance.” Let’s leave the fragrances at home for your own “moments” and not cause hardship and headaches for so many of us.
You just inspired me to place an order at Sephora!
I like Laura Geller’s powder foundation and eye shadow. I get it from beauty.com and on ebay. I use MAC eye shadows for liner and brow color. I order from their site which sends a newsletter that offers free shipping all the time. Everything else comes from Walmart or the grocery store!
I have been using Mary Kay products since my 20′s. I am pleasantly surprised when I run into my high school classmates and they comment on how great I look! I’m 50 now and a country gal and I am happy and enjoying my life. I have a simple quick two step cleansing and moisturizing process and now am understanding all the training I received for the past 30 years on the products! Not so much “anti-aging” products as “happy to be aging” products! What fun we have now! The Mineral Powders are wonderful and the firming eye cream is like silk! Happy to send samples to my 50+ sisters! There are many great products out there and the hunt is half the fun!
I am using Mary Kay Cosmetics for the last 27 years and I do look at least ten Years younger than women my own age… and so do my friends that use the products.
I am also selling and teaching women skin care and makeup artistry with Mary Kay cosmetics a company based in Dallas Texas. Products have been recognized as the best selling brand on the market for more than 15 consecutive years. The best money can buy and very reasonably priced.
If you can find a consultant in your area worth calling and have her pamper you in a complimentary facial and skin care consultation.
If not feel free to visit my web side above …i do ship all over the USA free of charge.
The key here for us women over 5o is to have a skin care regimen and a daily routine, stay healthy and fit and get lots of rest. Minimum exposure to the sun, protect with sunscreens if you do have to be under the sun for very long, wear products with a minimum of sunscreen protection of at least spf15 and be gentle with the way you apply the products on your skin. Gentle movement of application can be a key to minimizing the lines.(Padding instead of rubbing and stretching the skin works so much better)
No matter what women over fifty are using the most important thing we all know is to wear a smile and be happy with who we are and who we have become. It’s a beautiful time in our lives we’ve made it thas far and the best is yet to come!
Happy day to all. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts, thank you for reading and thank you for sharing… life is a beautiful daring adventure or nothing at all.
God Bless us all.
