1. Mika from Softwalk
From slamond in Comfortable shoes that aren’t frumpy
“I have Morton’s neuroma and fibro in both feet. I swear by SoftWalk shoes. They are wonderfully padded on the inside, and very durable. They are over $100, but my shoes are still going strong after 2-3 years!”
2. Birkenstock Chania
From midnightbloomer in I should have hobbled towards chocolate
“I was diagnosed with not only plantar fasciitis, but also heel spurs, Morton’s neuroma, and…wait for it…a genetic bone deformity that makes my foot bones turn inward. My saving grace was discovering Birkenstocks and their off-shoots “Betula,” “Papillio” and “Tatami” brands. I have some really darling shoes now that allow me to walk all day with nary a whine from my tootsies. You can catch cheaper brands with similar foot-beds, but be careful. Some aren’t made with correct contours to support the arch and other areas of the foot properly.”
3. Toyah Mary Janes from Keen
From kayasinger in Sensible shoes that are cute
“I have major knee issues. Shoes with any heel at all makes my knees hurt when I walk. It’s a huge drag, but the reality. The only shoes I can wear are Keens. They are cute, stylish and comfortable.”
