It's great to have a book club geared to "us". I am a teen librarian, immersed in teen angst with my students all day, but I am so hungry to talk about adult books with other women! This is great!

My daughter is 14 and doesn't like to read, although she is a wonderful, straight A student. What went wrong? Computers, that's what. And Sims. The whole series, except the last one. She will be a Freshman in high school come September and the books the kids are reading seem to be vampire-ish in nature. I'm so over that. What kinds of books should she/could she/will she read of her own accord? We go to Barnes & Nobles to check out books that be of interest to her, then put them on hold at the library. Still, she won't read, What would you suggest? IS there a list of most popular teen books? That might excite her a bit. Just to know what other kids area reading from coast-to-coast. Maybe you could start a webpage from your library. I sure could use some help.

Jodi is my all-time favorite female writer.  I think I have every book she has written, but haven't read all the older ones.  Her next one out (Spring 2011) is going to cover gay adoption.  Can't wait to see what she does with that.  She always has such thought-provoking topics.

Try signing up for an "ebook" online at Amazon.com or bn.com, that is if you don't mind reading it on your PC or laptop.  I have a Kindle, and I just downloaded it. I'm also checking to see if it's available in an unabridged audio version at Audible.com (Parent Company - Amazon). I listen to lots of books from my Audible.com library online.

sounds wonderful! I will try to get this book at the library tomorrow. Our local library has a great web site where you can locate a book and request it be sent to the branch closest to you! It's a great resource if you don't have the budget to buy every book you want to read!

Talk about being a dummy!  I forgot that I had ordered it for my Kindle to get it faster and found it earlier this week when I started to think about checking with Amazon on its status.  I've laughed and laughed over the parts I've already read.

I just love it.  Reading is my passion, along with writing!  Can we nominate our own books for consideration?  My non-fiction account of living in Eastern Europe during the tumultuous 1990's, is available on Amazon!  Romance readers can check out New Music and bless me with their critiques, ideas and input! How awesome to belong to a book club that I can tune into as I am able, even at 2:00 A.M. in my pajamas!

I am in several book clubs, hence the name, Overbooked.  Hope you enjoy this club--I think one of the best things about book clubs in general (besides the discussions, of course) is that often you find yourself reading books you wouldn't normally choose for yourself and/or authors that are new to you.

I would like to suggest the author Emilie Richards who has recently written Happiness Key.  This is the first of a trilogy.  Emilie writes about friendships.  Women of different ages, cultures, status & life.  Please explore the idea of this being one of our books to read.  Thank you, Judy

Sadly, Dr. Vivian Diller is not listed in our county library, which surprises me. However, I do have a hold now on the copy of  Kathy Kinney's book. Is she the lady who plays "Mimi" on the Drew Carey Show? By the way, Drew Carey lost 8- lbs over the last few years. What a task, eh?
