The organization Among Women South Africa was born in 2007 from a women's travel adventure to explore South Africa post-apartheid. Twenty-nine alumnae from Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and Wellesley returned from the trip inspired and committed to assisting the South Africans most in need: women and children.
