using olive oil as a moisturizing anti wrinkle face cream

Could the best anti wrinkle face cream secret be in your pantry? For ages, women all over the world have used simple olive oil as a natural moisturizer. It's inexpensive, contains only natural oil, and you can even customize it for your own beauty routine.

Why shell out thousands of dollars each year on expensive, so-called "best" face creams for women over 50? For centuries, women from many parts of the world have used extra virgin olive oil to moisturize their faces and bodies. And for good reason: it's easy to come by, it's hypoallergenic, it's natural, and it smooths and regenerates the skin just like the expensive anti aging products.

Extra virgin olive oil contains high concentrations of natural antioxidants such as vitamin A and E. These vitamins are the same compounds that the best face creams for women over 50 contain to aid in skin repair and renewal.

Although some women use olive oil as a night time moisturizer, it can also be used for daytime. It's best to use it on damp skin, after a shower or after washing your face. This will help it absorb and reduce the "greasy" sensation of the oil. And remember, a little goes a long way. Just a few drops on the finger tips can be stroked onto the face and neck. But why stop there? You can use it all over to keep your whole body soft.

Mix sea salt into some olive oil and rub it into your skin to make an effective exfoliator. You can also add highly-scented essential oils, such as lavender or jasmine, to the olive oil to create your own signature scented moisturizer. Adding a couple of tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to your bath water will leave your whole body feeling soft and smoother.

Many women also use this natural oil on hands and nails to keep cuticles soft, and as an eye-makeup remover. Add some to a cotton pad and sweep across your eyes to remove makeup and keep the skin around your eyes soft and less wrinkled.

Experts say, though, that it make take longer for the oils to absorb into the skin. However, the concentration of the natural antioxidants may last even longer than other anti wrinkle face creams.
