Random thoughts on a lovely Tuesday Hot Conversation

Roseanne Barr woke me up this morning. She’d invaded my dreams with both her fat and frumpy, and skinnier, surgically altered versions. For whatever reason, I was in her sitcom playing with finger puppets. I blame it on the spicy meatballs we had for dinner last night.

I’m about thisclose to kicking the finely formed ass of my 20-something neighbor across the street. We live on a narrow alley way, and he keeps insisting on parking illegally on the curb, making it almost impossible for me to get out of my garage each morning. I will either key the side of his truck or call the police.

Why does my husband keep up his relentless complaining about the most lame ass issues?

“WHY??? Why do we have so many boxes of lemon jello mix?” He bitched and moaned the other night. “Wwhhhyyyy…?”

“I don’t know.” I said. “Why is the downstairs toilet still refusing to flush properly after I’ve asked to have it fixed for six months? Why do I still not have a door on my bathroom after fourteen years? Why do you refuse to join the rest of the twenty-first century and get a cell phone so I can reach you during an emergency?”

I don’t think I’ll be hearing about my surplus lemon jello supply anytime soon…

When my teenage daughter started high school, I bought her a cell phone for safety issues. She wanted to upgrade to a Blackberry for status issues and I refused. One day she presented me with a huge wad of cash, babysitting and birthday money she’d saved. It covered the cost of the phone and the year of service to go along with it. It’s a good thing she sprang for the unlimited texting. More than 21,000 texts on the latest bill. The child is developing over-sized thumbs and I fear arthritis is in her future. But still, it’s nice to get a text message every now and then stating, Hey Mom, I Luv U.

Some of my friends can’t believe I wouldn’t buy the Blackberry for her birthday, but there was nothing wrong with the phone I’d purchased for her. Now if I could only get the hubby to use her old phone!

Ok, here are a few random thoughts (probably more questions–no answers required–unless you wanna)….

Why did my office invite us all to lunch for Administrative Assistant day and then once we were all seated said, we will put this all one bill, and you can all settle with the bookeeper when we get back to the office….this is a treat???  I had soup and salad….My actual boss did give me a Barnes & Noble Gift card tho’ that was nice.

Why, when I’m finally feeling on top of things and in my work groove, my play groove, my financial groove, do I always get sidelined with the worlds most horrendous, snotty, coughing, miserable, achy cold in the universe…??

Why do I feel I have to solve all my kids problems when I talk to them on the phone?

Why does MissKitty’s friend really want to leave her husband and kids….I am so puzzled by that…not to mention the millionaire Mafia guy and his scam….so puzzling

Why have I already overbooked this entire week when my son is coming from Charleston SC to visit and I really should clean….work, haircuts, hockey games, concerts, auctions, and heaven forbid I miss an episode of Castle, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Hosuewives, Survivor and the Amazing Race, the news Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz…and I’m still tired from the crappy cold.

Ok, I could get random all day I guess.

OK your body is telling you to SLOW down – that’s what the cold is for. STOP and breathe lady. I’ve been there and no one rewards you for it – take care of you and do what you enjoy nstead. The housework will always be there, the soaps are brain numbing, car pool!

Actually, I had been slowed down when I came down with it….I work in the same building as a school, and this spring virus hit virtually every single person in my office, me included…..it was just not going to be fought off no matter how much sanitizer I was using….or immunity building supplements…sounded like a TB ward in here for a while…..seems to be subsiding now, but has drained my energy (and thus my coping skills….) I am better after a good nights rest….happy for over the hump day though.  All these events are for me….not for kids….thank goodness I’m beyond that part of raising kids…

Oh sweetie, take a moment and breathe!

And what a bunch of cheapskates at your office! When one is invited to lunch, one should have their bill taken care of by the boss…at least that’s what I think!

How old are your children? If they’re over the age of 21, mom should be their for support, but they need to take care of certain things on their own.

Miss Kitty’s friend is going to regret her decision…especially when those children are older and want nothing to do with her…

Now go sit down, watch those tv shows and relax!

Thanks…I just need a getaway….going to do that next month….my kids are 25, 27, 29…all on their own and doing well…just miss my nest being full sometimes….I just was irritated after that stupid lunch….

I would be irritated too.  This is definitely an irritable offense.  lol

Just wondering how much the Barnes & Noble card is for?

One of my lawyers whom I gave several million dollars worth of business to over the years,  sent me a Chapters Book store card for $10.00 for Christmas.  I nearly walked it over to his office and told him to stick it.

$25.00…not too bad for Admin. Asst. day…I get about $250 at Xmas…but last Xmas they made us buy our own meal for the lunch and then gave us the balance of the day off….If you have read any of my old posts there are innumerable issues with this job…I have been trying to relocate to no avail…I still persist and little issues like this keep me motivaed to keep looking….ahhh life

oh this made me laugh.  I had the same conversation with my spouse this morning about why he insists on buying more bottles of household cleaners of one kind or another when A:  I do not like chemicals and use baking soda, vinegar, lemon whenever I can.  And B:  we have 16 other bottles of various household cleaners.

I might even be able to handle the chemicals if it ever entered his head to use these products himself, or if suddenly the urge hit him to clean the bathroom, or scour the kitchen, or mop the floors, then go right to it!

Ha! That’s funny! In my house, hubby is the neat freak. I’m no slob, but take a more relaxed attitude toward housecleaning.

This is hilarious!  I love this post!  I think once a week there should be a post about random thoughts.  It’s fun to see what silly things cause us to ponder.

My most pressing random thought for the day? . . . . .our new puppy ate something from the backyard that came back up when I wasn’t paying attention.  So I stepped in it.  But I have intentionally stayed away from calling friends who have crazy lives so I feel like I’m ahead of the game today.

I think random thoughts are a good idea….

Today, both my sons are doing very well in school and career, they called and are happy.

My dogs can read my mind, and love me to death.

I am officially getting married May 1, 2010, with grizzly bears!

    Spring has actually started…

I love seeing the calves kicking up their heels,

and the baby robins standing around not knowing what to do.

Sometimes, I cry for no reason, and can’t stop, sometimes I want to get lost and never come back

But today was worth hanging around for…

        Dillin,

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!  I have two questions.

        1) Are you expecting guests at your wedding?

        2) Will there be men with shotguns just in case something goes wrong?

HHhhhhmmmm.  I’m married to a grizzly bear but I know he is harmless.

Keep hanging around.  We need you here!

There will be 7 of us. My dad is probably fastest on his electric wheelchair, but I know I can out run my soon to be Mother-in -law. Pictures posing is optional! I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like!

Also, I forgot to say: I wonder if the jello mix performs as the other pudden mix performs in rice pudden. If you feel risque, let me know if you try it. Lemon is my absolute favorite.
