I have started a blog at yakkity’s suggestion. The Art of Being Human/ I’m doing it for myself to keep myself focused and engaged with my soul. I’ve named it The Art of Being Human. Duffy suggested that I ask ya’ll what you think a good name would be.(It takes a village to create a blog) If you followed it and have a better suggestion for the name, I’m all ears. I hope to have all the original posts up there today or tomorrow.

Watermusic, now that you’ve decided to take the plunge, we’d love to have you as an official part of Our Blog Circle. Email me directly if you’re interested! beth@vibrantnation.com. Thanks.
Great idea Watermusic. Logged in and wanted to know how to join and get them automatically? I have read a lot of them, but other life getting in the way, have missed a few and just too ‘hectic’ lately to read the ones I missed.

Hi – Love the suggested name, and I’d suggest another one to consider is “Soul Engagement” based on what you posted that you want to be “engaged with your soul”.
(And it riffs on great musical and theatrical/artistic presentations & performances that are often advertised as rare opportunities, or a “sole engagement”, in that they are very special chances to connect and have one’s passion fed).
P.S. A quick Google search did not reveal any other blogs or books with this exact name.
Actually, after I suggested watermusic ask for suggestions (due to getting a lot of google hits with “theartofbeinghuman” – I realized that technically there’s no other blogspot blog with that name. So…. So actually I have no clue what I was trying to say, other than anything you choose sounds great, watermusic. (grin)
Hi watermusic,
I did follow some of your posts and thanks for your life examples! You have such a fun-filled, (paddling away!) life! It is obvious you are doing many things right and surrounded by good friends!
This has been a hectic summer and I TRY to keep up with VN…time just gets away from me! Hopefully, fall will settle my schedule down for ‘sanity’ to prevail!
Congratulations on your new blog! How about a title ”Living your life, with meaning” or “A meaningful Life”. I feel that so much of what we yearn for is to have meaning…a sense of ‘why one was born’. To die from this earth wondering ,”Why?” When one could exit with, “Yes! this life has had real meaning, I am fulfilled!”
That ol’ deathbed scene is the final, tell-all, chapter! I hope that wasn’t negative! (oops!)
Hi watermusic,
I’m so glad you decided to start a blog and that you will include your original posts because I only just joined Vibrant Nation this week and missed out on your journey.
All the best!
dancingthedance, you can still catch up! Enter the words “no negativity challenge” in the search box at the top right corner of this page. Watermusic’s posts will turn up. She numbered each one chronologically in the titles, so you’ll be able to read them in order.
Well actually, I tried – HARD – to find all of them that way so I could read them in order, and they don’t show up chronologically when one searches. In fact, I never managed to find some of them. I think maybe if they’d been blogs they would’ve shown up in the order they were written, but they definitely don’t show up that way in a search as they stand now.
You’re right, Duffy – I didn’t mean to suggest that the search results display in chronological order by date of original post.
If these were blog posts, they would appear in chronological order on the blogger’s Blog Circle page. However, our search function displays results from the forums differently – i.e., it factors in the date of the most recent response (vs. just the date of the original post). Also, if the titling convention varies even slightly from post to post (e.g. a missing space between words in the title) that might affect the order as well. Other than that, however, watermusic’s titling convention is very consistent, which makes it easier than usual to find her posts.
Are there particular posts that we can help you find?
Thank you for the offer, Cara – that’s really nice. I downloaded them from watermusic’s blog, which I hope she’ll transfer here, since we’d all like to continue on her journey with her.
I don’t know how to transfer them here, if there’s a way clue me in. If not, they have been cleaned up and edited as much as I’m going to do today and are on my blog site. FTR, thank you very much to the VN staff for all their help and support. I appreciate it.
First, you e-mail Beth (the very first post under yours in this thread). She’ll walk you through it from there. It’s not fast (as in you’ll have plenty of time to work on your blog and fine-tune it first), because there’s a contract involved, and then Beth will have to set you up with your private blog spot on here and e-mail you with that information.
Hi Cara, thanks for your response. I’m grateful to have come across WM’s posts.
I’ve been dealing with long term health issues which have made it impossible to continue working at a regular job and I’m now working on ways to make a living by being self-employed.
One of the things I’ve come to realize during my journey is that no matter what happens in my life, the common denominator is me and that my attitude makes a huge difference. With less negativity, I’ll have more energy to make my dreams come true.
Hi Dancingthedance. Just in case you’re still looking for an easy way to follow Watermusic’s No Negativity Challenge posts, here is an index of the posts, listed in date order:
How “The Art of Being Human” began
I hope this helps!
They’re up on the blog. I am really doing this for me. I found that writing about it everyday kept me honest and held me accountable. I like my life much better sans negativity and writing about it weekly will help me stay the course. I decided to stick with The Art of Being Human.
Hi WM,
The posts I’ve read have been very inspiring. I appreciate your honesty and your insights.
There have been many books which have helped me in the past and I think it’s time to re-read some of them as I re-commit to living a life with more focus and less negativity. One of them is Everyday Commitments: Choosing a Life of Love, Realism and Acceptance by David Richo and the other one is The Force of Kindness by Sharon Salzberg.
Take care.
What a beautiful and inspiring project you have undertaken….every day, almost every hour, we all need to be reminded of who we are. Some of us are available to hear that message and others, who base their life’s meaning on ego driven values, are not available. I have loads of experience with unavailable people and have found that the gift of their being in my life is the gift of having healthy boundaries. It’s draining to be around negative people who have to be right all the time. Their ego is always looking for one of or all three things: to be right, to feel special or to be miserable. So while I am better at recognizing this negative energy, I’m still very much a work in progress because I am kind and loving and that afterall is what we all need in heavy doses….especially those who choose to be negative. I am so proud of you watermusic; happy for the company on this sometimes lonely journey of living an authentic life.
