You are who you’ve been.
Some women are naturally positive, upbeat, optimistic, feisty, undaunted by life, and relish a challenge.
Others struggle more. They’ve got anxiety, worry, fear, overwhelm, etc.
Those in the first group tend to be the ones who sail through 60.
Those in the second group tend to struggle more with it.
Unfortunately for me, I’ve got some of the second group’s characteristics.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a tendency to worry. And so I was worrying about being 60. Just like usual.
Once I realized I was approaching 60 in a familiar (but not effective!) way, I breathed a sigh of relief. Now I understood what to do. More on that in the next post.
Is this true for you, too? Are you “doing” turning 60 like you’ve done other things in your life?

I’d like to think I have learned to adjust somewhere along the way but (sigh) I am afraid my pattern surfaced at the turning of 60…..I did not handle it well, although I have since adjusted somewhat……it is the first and only birthday I ever struggled with….
Yep, Sunblossom, I hear you! 60 was the first (and I hope the only!) birthday I struggled with. I’m mostly adjusted now. But every once in a while, something related to 60 gives me pause, creates a pang, etc. Progress, not perfection, for me re being 60.
Nice! I turned 60 on Flag Day. Yeah, right when is that? June 14th. I can hardly believe I am 60. I never imagined myself 60. I went on a quest for a major makeover which i am i the process of now. So far so good. It’s a good time for this. I thank God I made it to 60 for real. For the first 1/2 of my life I was headed into a speeding bullet; but God met me on one of the worst nights of my life and gave me other options. Revolutionized my life.
Hi, Stanice! Belated Happy Birthday to you! Glad you turned your life away from that speeding bullet. Will you tell us more re what you’re doing for your major makeover?
