Winning a contest through Vibrant Nation to go to a retreat for Women over 50, named WOMEN AT WOODSTOCK, at the Emerson SPA, is so up my alley as to seem surreal. I was so excited to get ready that life took on a new glow. Notoriously last-minute and late for everything, I spent the day before doing laundry, packing, and cleaning the house. Well, I cleaned the kitchen and picked up the dust balls.
Waiting for the other proverbial shoe to drop, I was especially careful not to fall down the stairs or get into a car accident. I did see a dead skunk on the road (RIP), and missed running over it’s remains (almost). Oh no, would if my clothes smelled like skunk?
I was wondering about what kind of clothes to pack. SO MANY cool speakers, coaching sessions, workshops! Probably more cosmopolitan than I, would they all be wearing heels and scarves? Would they know I don’t own any animal print garments? Will they be able to tell I bought my pants at Target? I meant to bring masking tape because I haven’t gotten around to getting them hemmed. I knew the cardinal faux pas: no fanny-packs. I talked myself out of buying a nice red one at the truck stop.

Arriving three hours early, I had some time to snoop around the shops at the Emerson Spa. I tasted the cheese and jam from a local farmer. I found adorable animal Christmas ornaments, and bought a skunk to remind me of my journey to Woodstock, to be my talisman.

As mundane as iceberg lettuce can be it is a better wrap choice because it is firmer. I also like leftover veggies with brown rice or quinoa. Thanks.
