I like setting myself goals…Some of them are very realistic and some are as far fetched as me suddenly waking up 50 pounds thinner with hair that is manageable!
One of my goals is to replace Joy Behar on the View! She’s got her own show now and it’s not like she needs the money! Personally, I think she’s too negative and sometimes downright nasty.
Here’s our similarities. We both have red hair, we’re both voluptuous… Joy is Italian and I’m Jewish (very similar backgrounds). We both are comics but started out as teachers. We both are very comfortable being in front of an audience. (I smile more!)
Here’s our differences. I’m a good listener and would much rather have a nice conversation with someone than look for reasons to insult them. I am tolerant of other people’s viewpoints.Though I haven’t traveled the world, I have more life experience having raised 4 “favorite” children who keep me on my toes. I have great rapport with the guy on the street because I am one!
I’m hoping that one of the producers comes across this column and loves it enough to call me in for an interview. Who knows…Maybe it will happen on a day that Joy Behar gets under her skin!

i use a combo of shea butter and aloe vera moisturizer. Works great. I use shea butter on my lips, around my eyes and nose (dry areas), My father swears by vasoline.

I don’t watch the View because I work during the day but have watched Joy Behar’s show in the evening and I like what I see. From what I’ve heard, though, Elizabeth Hasselback is the one you want to get rid of! I know she’s a conservative and I am a liberal so we have very different ideologies, but please just shut her up! Jusy sayin!
I understand why they wanted a younger woman on the panel..I think they intentionally chose Elizabeth for her very conservative views….Conflict boosts ratings!!
I personally hate the View. Watched about 15 minutes since it has been on.
That’s why we need some NEW women to bring the show back to life.
To each his own. MY goal, once upon a time, was to get Elizabeth off the View. I don’t care any more. I no longer have the inclination to watch The View. I’m pretty tired of all the celebrity driven drivel on TV.
We never had cable television until last year. I had never seen a “reality ” show and couldn’t believe that people really watch this stuff!
As far as The View is concerned, I think the original concept was pretty good but as the years went by it got less interesting. When all the women start talking at the same time, it’s almost unbearable.
I wrote this just for fun. The chances of a small town gal like me getting a shot at The View is about as realistic as my fantasy of winning the lottery!
I have to agree with you on the celebrity drivel. Unfortunately, many people take their ‘news’ on issues from those folks. I like to see folks discuss differences of opinions, but prefer them to be folks other than celebrities who are celebrities just for ‘being’.
Love your similarities — and — as you know — Joy Behar gets work because she is ‘in your face’ — and with experience, fun and love that goes with it. I vote for getting little miss goody two shoes – Liz the Hassel off off off. But what do I know??? She causes the friction that generates sponsors.

I know that is a very popular show and must have high ratings or else it would not still be on tv, but I say if you wanted to “torture” me, sit me in a room and make me watch and listen to The View. I just don’t like any of those women on the show. I did see a clip of Barack Obama on the show and the way Joy Behar behaved towards him was just sickening. Also she never misses an opportunity to bad mouth Sarah Palin.
I honestly believe that if you put 4 or 5 regular women on the show, it would be more interesting. There would be no BIG egos or “attitudes”…

i am never home to watch the show. The few times that i have been home it wasn’t too bad. But i gather that watching it everyday may be a bit too much, except if the topic interests me. Do not watch the Joy Behar Show either. So Debi send in the petition form for the signatures, we all will sign it and get you on the show.
I would much rather see ANYONE than Joy Behar on that show….and yes I do watch it sometimes. For all the same reasons you have. I am not much of a fan of Barbara Walters either, but since it is her show, not much luck with having her go….I have been too busy lately to watch it much or anything else…I have to tape anything I want to watch for later…
I don’t have much time to watch The View but when I do.. I always hope that it will be something worth watching!
