Fairy Wand vibrators make turbo magic!

Picture a fairy wand vibrator in pink and white. What would you expect from it? A whisper-light touch like gossamer wings? Barely the tickle of an eyelash?

You would be so wrong! Whoever named the Fairy Wand vibrators had a sense of humor, because these are turbo vibrators, monster strong, noisy, and strong (did I say that already?). My thanks to Eden Fantasys for the opportunity to review these fabulous products.

I tested two — the Fairy Mini-Wand and the Pocket Fairy. Both are amazing and far stronger than their cute names and colors would suggest.

Fairy Mini-Wand:

The Mini isn’t all that miniature, and it’s maxi in intensity. I swear the vibrations were stronger than the Hitachi, and it’s smaller and lighter, easier to hold. I do prefer the softer ball of the Hitachi head — the Fairy Mini is a harder surface. Like the Hitachi, it has to be plugged in. (That’s a good thing — the plug-in types are usually much stronger than those with batteries.) The vibrations dial from medium to high to OhMyGod. Though you know I like strong intensity, I didn’t have to dial this one all the way up. Yeah, that surprised me, too!

The head is smaller than the Hitachi — 1-3/4″ diameter instead of 2-1/2″ so for more power you have a smaller surface, making it easier to use an insertable vibrator (or a non-vibrating dildo or dilator) at the same time, if that’s what you like. The two won’t have to battle over real estate or clack against each other.
The Mini comes with a pink storage bag.

Pocket Fairy:

This little dear will go traveling with me. It’s tiny — 5-3/4″ long, just 1 inch in diameter — light (just 5.5 oz!), quiet, and strong. I could hardly believe the vibrations coming out of what looks like a doll’s vibrator! It’s rechargeable, so once you have it charged, no need to fuss with a cord. It’s small enough to fit in a purse, should you need to be prepared for pleasure at all times.

It comes with a little bracelet so you don’t lose your grip when it tries to get away from you or becomes slick and hard to hold onto from lube . How did I go so long without knowing about the Fairy Wands? Wow. Again, my thanks to EdenFantasys.

I almost never get any comments about my sex toy reviews. Does that mean you’re not interested in reading them? Or are you reading them and just have nothing to say? I have more of these I can post if I know you’re interested. I know a few people are put off by them, and they decide not to read them — that’s perfectly appropriate. But are any of you finding them valuable?

    I’m wondering….

I’m 61 – haven’t had sex in awhile — yet am nervous about buying sex toys … I think I feel ashamed of wanting to use them.  Can you write something about how you got to be so free – as to not only use them, but joyfully write about them!

PS – I used to be afraid to go into a sex shop — but now I realized after reading your recommendations I could order something online — do you have a recommendation for a good site to visit?

      Blessings, Angelica

Angelica, I was once shy about writing about sex toys (not using them, just going public about such an intimate subject), until I realized that although there were many sex toy bloggers / reviewers, no one our age was doing this work. Yes, I think it’s important work because as you said, many women our age are nervous about buying and using sex toys, and also there are special considerations for us. E.g. for a toy to work for us, it has to be good enough quality to run for a long time without overheating or tiring our wrists. The controls have to be easy to use even if the toy is slippery from the lubricant we need to add. I realized it would be helpful to have a senior perspective on specific sex toys so that women have that extra knowledge before making a decision.

Fortunately, the sex toy manufacturers and retailers are eager for this information, too, and they provide me with just about any toy I’d like to review.

There are several retailers I recommend, and you’ll find links on my reviews of specific toys. The retailers I link to in my review are all reliable — I’ve dealt with them, they respect us, they care for our privacy, they don’t spam us.

Here’s a wonderful, women-owned, women-centered site where you can’t go wrong, and they offer lots of educational material as well as excellent toys: A Woman’s Touch. I’ve mentioned them several times before. The owner, Ellen Barnard, has been extremely generous in contributing her expertise to my blog and to my new book — she cares about women’s sexual health and believes that we all have a right to lifetime sexual pleasure.

      Hi Joan

I like reading your sex toy reviews, i don’t usually comment because, unless I’ve tried it or something similar I have nothing to say.

This is the first time I’ve found your site, but I’m glad I did! As the manager of two lingerie and “novelty” stores (smack in the niddle of the bible belt, no less), I plan on reading your reviews. It’s helpful to be able to tell my customers what ‘real’ women are saying. I can’t believe that neither of my suppliers carries Media Craft Inc. products-the fairy line looks wonderful!
