I love the pizzas I make at home from scratch.  I make my own dough, let it rise, flatten the dough, and place a topping on it.

My favorite is a plain Margarita – fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella.

    I also love the following:

pizza with roasted peppers, parsley and garlic.

    pizza with anchovies

pizza with a topping of thinly sliced potatoes. Oh that crispiness!

Commercial pizza is too soggy for me.  They smother the sauce all over it.

What are needed are fresh ingredients and and some work.  There is not substitute.

Very easy!  I learned it in Italy.  After flattening the dough, cut the potatoes almost paper thin, spread over dough, sprinkle with olive oil, black pepper and salt.  Proceed to bake.

I would also like to mention that I also make another pizza with sauteed onions and white raisins.  Delicious!

For a beginner, I suggest to buy a ball of dough from a chain grocery store (refrigerated section) or from pizza place.   Once you have the dough flatten it almost covering the entire pizza pan, place the anchovies fillets and oil from the can throughout the dough, add chopped garlic and parsley.  Then roll the dough with topping into a jelly roll fashion,  and then flatten it again to about 1/2″.  Let it rest for 20 minutes or so so that the dough will rise again.  Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 to 400 degrees for 20 min. or longer.  The pizza bottom should be a golden brown.  Good Luck!

Thank you much, I have a pizza pan with holes on the bottom or should I get the stone?

I use a pan without holes.  Grease the pizza pan slightly with olive oil or other oil before flattening the dough on it so as not to stick.  Let me know the results.

When I make it I use my pizza stone in the oven.  I heat the oven up with the stone in it. Then sprinkle some cornmeal on the stone and slip the rolled out pizza dough in onto the stone using my pizza peel. (a large wooden paddle with a long handle.)  The crust is always crispy.

In the summer you can make pizzas on your gas grill outside by simply putting the pizza right onto the grill grate as you would a hamburger etc.
