15 Things I like
- The 1stthing I like to do is to utilize every minute of my waking day so this morning when I knew I had to wait about 3 hours for Carl to finish a stained glass commission piece and pack it up so I could get an UPS label printed up I decided to do some baking.
- The 2ndthing I like is to get bargains and sales so the other day in Hobby Lobby I was able to purchase some silicon baking items at a 40% discount and that is the only way I buy anything like that. Since all the Easter stuff was out I choose two Easter egg pans.
- The 3rdthing I like is to try new things and the silicon baking items were very new for me. One of the other new things I purchased was silicon butterfly pans.
- The 4ththing I like to do is to experiment and I felt that the butterfly silicon baking molds were a good thing to experiment with since they looked challenging.
- The 5ththing I like is a good challenge and though I have been baking for over 70 years using these new silicon baking items for the first time was a challenge for me.
- The 6ththing I like is the aroma of baking in the kitchen and now that we are down to only 2 people in the house baking is a rare thing unless we have invited guests to dine with us.
- The 7ththing I like is to cook for people and we do not do a lot of entertaining in our old age. However, the cooking began because I had to kill about 3 hours until Carl was finished. So the mixing and baking commenced.
- The 8ththing I like is to make things look nice and attractive so these darling little flower cupcake paper baking cups were also added to my mélange of things I was going to do today.
- The 9ththing I like is to share what I make with people and we have some wonderful people at our favorite bank and at our post office that aften go out of their way to do things for me so they are usually the recipients of my baking.
- The 10th thing is like is surprising results and I was especially concerned with getting those butterfly molds to act like they were supposed to. I discovered the secret was to let them sit and cool down before I tried to un-mold the little cakes and then once they were cool I was able to just gently pry the edges open and away from the cakes and pop them out unto the cooling racks.
- The 11ththing I like is to be delighted and I was delighted to find out the egg molds were a lot easier to un-mold especially when I let them sit and cool down. They popped out quite nicely. I was a little disappointed in the fact that though they had some of the pan design on them I knew the minute I iced them with frosting the design would disappear.
- The 12ththing I like is to decorate cakes and up to about 24 months ago I was quite adept at this art form. However, I am developing a slight case of palsy and that means that though the cakes were delicious they were not as perfect as I like things to be.
- The 13ththing I like is to be creative so I decided that gum drops would be ideal to cut up to create the bodies of butterflies.
- The 14ththing I like is perfection and with the palsy problem I was discovering I was not going to achieve that as one can see with the final results of my decorating.
- The 15ththing I like is that my time spent creating these not quite so perfect, but absolutely delicious little bakery items was appreciated by all the recipients of these goodies as they overlooked the slight imperfections and were smiling because someone thought enough of them to make something special for them.

You're welcome, Linda. I agree with you. I do read novels with younger characters, but I get a little tired of the immaturity sometimes, and the issues that don't need to be issues. A mature adult is so much more interesting. And, I enjoy Elizabeth B
