Wish we could edit or delete

I’m kinda new around here so I’m sure this has been mentioned before.  It would be great if users could edit or delete their posts.  Sometimes you post something and a few hours later, you either find a typo or are in a different frame of mind and would like to modify something you’ve posted.  Mind you, this hasn’t happened to me …. yet.   ^_^

Wish I could say the same. I’ve been too vocal at times.   I think it’s been mentioned.  Wish there was a way to see how many hits there are on a subject.  A counter. It would be interesting to see the interest.  Even if people don’t respond, at least you know it’s been read.  Another thing would be an easier way to reach a person and have private chats that would not be seen.  Like facebook.  So, we would also need to see who is on.  That could be a long list I’m sure.  We only have to log in to respond but we can view anything just like any non-member.  Interesting.

Hi, moongoddess. Your ideas for a counter and a “who’s on VN” are interesting; we’ll give those some thought.

You can already send a private message to another VN member. Just look for the PM link on her profile page.

The reason we allow other women to read posts even before they’re members of Vibrant Nation is simple: Many of us want to get a feel for a place before we join or participate. For example, take a look at this recent post by new member WexfordWriter.

I have mentioned the edit piece and now we can edit – as long as it it within 15 mins after we post. I find that if I re-read right after I post something I can usually catch mistakes. I think most of my mistakes are from typing too fast….heh

Deletions tend to be a big discussion at most online boards at some point. The general consensus is usually that if something gets deleted then the flow of the thread can be interrupted and make it more confusing to follow for anyone reading after the deletion that didn’t follow from the beginning. Me? Yes, I like to have the option but I have sent a message before to one of the moderators and requested a deletion. They’re fast!

The deleted message could be replaced with automated text reading ”Message deleted by Member” in the same manner in which inappropriate messages are handled by the Administrator. That way, the thread would continue on course.

      Just my $.02.

      Happy New Year, everyone.
