There’s a wonderful book written by a woman who has been a very successful real estate developer from Atlanta about meeting a real guru from India. She wrote it about some conversations she had with him, asking him all the questions we all want answered about life.
It’s fabulous! Changed my life and then I got to meet him too. A real guru like this shows you how to take charge of your life, not what people think at all – that they control your life.
I’m 58 and have more energy than I did at 40, because I’m less anxious and afraid than I’ve ever been.
Way deeper than most of the strip mall/workout yoga stuff that’s out there.

No he’s not doing anything April 8th. He will be at the Isha Institute of Inner-sciences giving free evening talks from May2nd to the 14th.
But April14 to 17, there is a great retreat weekend at the Institute that is teaching Inner Engineering with a trained teacher, and alot of pampering included.
Oh my! I’m really out of date. Duh? March 2010 was when I attended the Austin Inner Engineering week. And the next month, the first VN Retreat. Then I met a man and got sidetracked. Unfortunately, the quest for contentment continues, but there are always forks in the road. In the meanwhile…I have a good friend who is in the serious learning stage – her husband died recently and she has no family – just a few close friends. She is searching for her new ”place” and it occurred to me that the Isha Center may well suit her. If we just came up, got a hotel and came out to the foundation, could we could attend the “free evening talks” …or is this just for those living there? It looks like there are cottages and rooms on site for events – is this is possibilty? I also would like to know more about your decision to pick up and move there, but I’ll respond to your private message. Thanks.
Is there something special about THIS particular (Apr 14-17) weekend Inner Engineering program? I had to pay my own meals and lodging, but the one in Austin, Tx was only $200 for 7 days (5 evenings and the weekend).

Those pesky men can sidetrack us can’t they? haha Yes, it would be wonderful for you and your friend or anyone to come for a visit during the free evening talks. It’s open to the public and there are certainly places to stay here as well as hotels in town.
I always think, how everyone wants to sit “at the feet” so to speak of a sage or someone full of wisdom and listen to what they have to say.
To answer your other question, there is something special about this retreat. It’s onsite at the III Center and will have complimentary reflexology massage, essential oil footbaths, complimentary airport shuttle, picnics and hikes to the waterfall, musical entertainment, 9 gourmet meals, sessions on the bluff in a lovely event tent, and a few things I’m sure I’m forgetting about. haha And the meditation training itself is all in one weekend.
