Wonderful book about navigating fear of change

I find that I’m constantly in the midst of change. Some of it frightens me and some of it I find exhilarating. I’d pick up and move in an instant. I’d be sad but excited. I thrust myself into change constantly with my work; I balk when I realize I must then follow through with the path I’ve created, but I walk down it anyway–and it always takes me where I want to go if I trust my intuition. With relationships, it’s harder. It’s difficult to let go sometimes and move on.

Nothing is ever the same. I watched an old Oprah Lifeclass Tour show last night about gratitude. The teachers were all talking about living in the now. If we do that, we simply feel blessed by what we have and where we are in the moment. We can’t be stressed by what’s coming or what we are leaving behind. We just flow on through, moment to moment.

Easier said than done, I know. But it can be done, one breath at a time, one thought at a time. Just open your heart, feel gratitude, enjoy–do what you want to do right now. Now is the only moment you have. You don’t ever know what will happen in the next one.

I suggest reading Julien Smith’s book, The Flinch. Wonderful book. I have a little book on fear on m website, too, called Navigating the Narrow Bridge, but Julien’s is excellent…and free for Kindle.
