When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300 C.
The Russians used a pencil.

Hi Dallas Lady,
Good one. Sometimes the simplist things are right there in front of us and we can’t see it through the research.

Our government’s never done anything the simplest, most inexpensive way no matter which party is in control of Congress or has a sitting President, has it? Of course, a pencil (hopefully with an eraser) might possibly be overkill, LOL!
Thanks for this, Dallas – I’ve been craving more lightness and joy here at VN instead of so many arguments and so much negativity, and I was so glad to see you say you felt the same way. To paraphrase what you said in answer to me, “And the choir sings out a loud AMEN!”
Here’s another one that reminds me of dating in my late 30s/early 40s….and it also reminds me of something that jbwritergirl would say:
” I can’t think of anything worse after a night of drinking than waking up next to someone and not being able to remember their name, or how you met, or why they’re dead.”
