Nothing special — I have one that I’ve had for about 3 years — it sits in my living room either at the front door – on the buffet – on the wood stove — or whereever I want it to sit.  It’s a bit scraggly looking – I prefer to call it the ‘japanese’ look — and some of the leaves are red — and most are not.  It’s alive — and the person who gave it to me told me to throw it away — I cannot.  All I do is water it regularly.  I’ve heard that if you put them into a dark closet for the winter they will produce red flowers around the holidays.  I enjoy mine year round — good luck.

Once the blooms go, trim it down, hang it upside down in a dark place and give it a good watering once a month. When you want it to bloom again, bring it up to the light, slowly, give it good fertilizer along with the watering and enjoy…..

In CA….the used to bloom wild in my yard…..sigh…….
