Peaceful Screensave for you. Hot Conversation

I change my screensaver from time to time.  I like nice peaceful scenes on my screen saver.  My brother posted this on our family blog this morning.

Last summer my spouse and I were staying at his home on the water and they were staying in the city at our apartment for the Tennis Tournament.

So I decided we should row out to the sail boat from the dock and took a picnic and thought we might sleep overnight on the boat.

So we get in the little row boat to paddle out to the sail boat in the cove.   And the first thing I said to my helpless husband, was whatever you do:

Don’t stand up in the boat!

So we get about a hundred feet off the dock and sure enough he stands up.  And the boat tilted, and he fell strait overboard.  The moron!  Honest to Gawd, right over board.  With binoculars hung around his neck, his hat gone, his glasses gone, his wallet all wet.  Whatever he thought he needed his wallet for out on the sailboat.  Such a city slicker.

And no I don’t sail.  I just thought we would go out there and sleep overnight on the sailboat.

And this boat was called The Mistral.  This photo was taken from a magazine.  It was my brothers first boat, and he sold it for a bigger one :)   and then later saw this magazine spread of his first boat.   The small boat in the cove at home is perfectly sea worthy and they downsized slightly :) from their 2nd boat which I never did see.  But I’ve been on The Minstral.

And no I’m not just being a snot.  I was just looking in some photos I had while I am cleaning up my husbands old laptop.  Found these photos.

oh you can stand up in the sail boat.  and sail it, or sleep in it, cook in it..  you just can’t stand up while I row you out in the row boat to the sail boat. :)   So just sit tight, and I”ll row and we can take probably about 10 people out there.

LOL NanaC – very funny story. Very silly city slicker husband, hahahaaaaa! And it’s a gorgeous picture for a peaceful screensaver.

I’d like to post mine here, hopefully you won’t mind. It’s a picture of a park in Great Britain where a good friend of mine used to go. Her name was Ali, she died of breast cancer in 2007 on the day we picked up our rescue puppy she’d given us permission two weeks earlier to name after her. True (goosebump) story.

This is human Ali’s rainbow I’m sure she lives in/above/near/whatever:

You’re more than welcome. That screensaver means a lot to me. Wait – it’s my background, my wallpaper. My “screensaver” is my monitor turning off, with a movement of my mouse making it come back on.

It’s actually a double rainbow, Sunblossom.  Did you click on it to make it full-sized before you saved it?  I love seeing it as my background on my monitor every day when I lift my laptop’s lid.  SO peaceful.

OK cindy O.  last minute addition.   too late for everybody else.

we’re just hanging out on the boat for the rest of the weekend.  You and me and Namaste and Track and Gramma, and Duffy I think.

it would be quite cool out there right now.  bring a jacket.  and Track is cooking, and we can sing, or pray or just sit with our legs hanging over the side.  I don’t know how to actually sail that thing, so we’re just hangin.

oh yes and Namaste is singing.  thats her job :)

oh yeah……..and for any wuzzies among you, then you can swim back to the dock and the house.

Hmmmmm…. um um um I think I’ll buy one or five of those ugly Snuggy things, and I’ll wear my long johns under some ancient, unsightly nylon sweats….. Yeah, I think I can handle the cold then.

Okay, well I’m going to go get VERY busy now and I’ll see you tomorrow. We’re not rowing out to the boat till tomorrow, right? Cuz I truly do need to get busy. Later gators.

P.S. I’ve posted twice that I’m coming – you must go find at least one of the posts. Hunt me down, honey!

Great photo of the boat!!  Great photo of beautiful England and wonderful memory!!  You guys are all nuts!!!  Having said that (aggravating saying?)  I’d go with you in a flash — if invited – which my sainted Mother said is the only way one can go – only if invited!!  If not I’ll just sit here sucking my thumb and shovelling truffles down my neck!!

No, m’dear, I do not suck my thumb — that was a sort of, kind of, misplaced metaphor for crawling back into infancy because I thought I might not get invited onto the beautiful pea-green boat!!  But You are right — could make truly insightful thread — tacked onto nail biting, hair pulling etc.

lol.  I’ll make sure and invite you next time.  it was short notice I admit.

adult thumb sucking would be just as controversial and the incest thread.

nobody would own up to it, lol.  totally taboo subject.

I think it’s one of those ‘parent’ things — if they think it’s ‘bad’ – then so it is.  I had one child who sucked thumb til he went to kdgtn — and then it was done.  A dentist wrote in Wall Street Journal – 200 years ago (about) – that the parents worry about the teeth protruding — and — his take was — ‘that can be fixed easily — but sometimes the emotions can get skewed if the kid is made to feel ‘less than’.  Pays your money…

Think a possible thread might be — what experiences can still make us drop into our 8, 9, 10 year old???
