I have been having a lot of fun this week with the Cottonelle Care Routine. Fun? Yes, fun. What can be so fun about something as mundane as wiping your bottom?
I guess it comes down to two things:
1) It was hilarious to get that big box in the mail and try to explain it to my Hubby. And then, once he saw how PLUSH the TP was, he kept trying to sneak it off to his bathroom. I told him NO, not until I was done with my ‘research.’
… and
2) I was reminded of the old days, when a woman’s life, from her first period until her last, was supposed to be focused like a laser beam on her feminine hygiene.
Thinking back to those days, I am still amazed, and troubled, by the crazy notion that the female body is somehow unclean if we don’t super-sanitize it, inside and out.
Of course, once you enter menopause, the idea of feminine cleansing sort of falls off the radar.
It seems extreme either way – either disinfect and hose it down, or just forget about it and pretend it doesn’t exist.
That’s why I was so happy to participate in this little project. Cottonelle “gets it.” Here is a company that is promoting a routine to care for our bottom in a pleasant NON-hygienic way. May I say this concept is very refreshing?
I appreciate the fact that Cottonelle has taken two simple, luxurious products, put them together, and just wants to say; “Here. I hope this feels nice and gets the job done.“
No nonsense. Just straight talk about a simple function we all do every day. Isn’t that great?
So, to the feminine hygiene police, I say Back Off. I mean, really… an “antiseptic-germicide” to treat that “grave womanly offense that’s rarely discussed?” huh? What does that even mean? Can’t we just wipe and call it a day?
Thank you Cottonelle and Vibrant Nation for inviting me to join in this fun research. My vote is a resounding YES! I would continue the Cottonelle Care Routine using the Ultra Comfort TP and the Fresh Care Wipes. The toilet paper is so thick and ‘cozy’ and the wipes have a nice delicate scent, not floral or baby powderish smelling… just fresh. The refillable dispenser is very handy, too.
My name for the routine is a “Better Bottom” because that’s just how I feel.
