Take the Jane Austen challenge

It’s been a while since I’ve read anything by Jane Austen. Just as I was bemoaning that fact, I learned of the Everything Austen Challenge. It’s sponsored by Stephanie of Stephanie’s Written Word.

Everything Austen

The challenge is do-able. It only lasts six months (July 1 to January 1). I only have to pick out six Austen-themed things to do to complete the challenge. They can be books, CDs, movies or TV shows. Below is my list of possibilities. Don’t hold me to the exact list. I’d like to explore all the Austen possibilities. I will update my list as I go along.

1. Watch a movie version of Pride and Prejudice
2. Watch the Emma Thompson version of Sense and Sensibillity
3. Read Emma
4. Watch a movie version of Mansfield Park
5. Listen to The Jane Austen Book Club
6. A book, movie or tv show about Jane Austen’s life.

I hope you’ll join me in this challenge. To participate, click on the Jane Austen picture above for all the official details and to sign up. Stephanie also has a super list of Austen resources. If you would like to suggest one of your favorites for me to try, please leave a comment.
