Oh, I want to go!!!!! I never went to a prom. I was never asked…but also, my group of friends didn’t dance. Later in life, I have found that it is fun! In fact, I met my husband that way! He asked me to dance, and I did! =] Of course, I am assuming that there will be dancing, even though it is at an Episcopal Church… my congregation growing up didn’t…..Too bad, I can’t go to Kentucky to attend
…. Have fun!

Your post reminded me of my mom’s nursing home. Once a year we had senior, senior prom. High school kids dressed up in their prom finery would come and give a fashion show for the group at the nursing home. They would then dance with the nursing home residents throughout the evening. There would be a dj, music, food, prom king and queen. etc. Of course, the evening was the top off. We, daughters and friends of the nursing home residents, would spend the afternoon dressing our ladies in formals, doing their hair, nails, make up, lotions, etc…..and getting the men their dapper best too. It was always fun for everyone. The students received community service points for the events and the residents had a story to tell for awhile and something to look forward to.
Wow!! That sounds like so much fun. My Mother is in a nursing home and I might mention that to the Activities Director. I am going to post pictures!! Thank you for your interest. Renee
I will take pictures. Renee
This sounds like something I would definitely be up to doing. Unfortunately, I live in NYC. I wonder if something like that is going on here!!
I am happy about your interest. If something is not going on like that in New York I can help you make it happen. Would you like to assist with the cause. I’d love to help you do what I am doing in Louisville in New York. My son lives there and has a lot of friends who are actors. My number is 502-418-0423. My email address is rcampm@insightbb.com. Talk to you soon. Renee
