my bio
I'm 50 this year (2009). Alaska, Barbie, Hawaii and I are all the same age. Barbie looks better, but I have less crevices than Alaska, fewer erruptions than Hawaii and my moveable parts still work. :-)
Currently working in Washington DC and living in near by Virgina. I've been with the federal government for almost 20 years. I have three nationally accredited degrees: Doctor of Management in Organization Leadership, Masters in Human Resources Development, and Bachelors in Business Administration.
Single..again, but content in my aloneness. This is not to say that I wouldn't consider another partnership if love struck again; but not actively looking.
Love the ocean, coastal breezes, and brilliantly colorful sunsets; hope to live on the coast again one day.
Enjoying reading and writing and helping folks in my personal and professional life. It's good being the wise ol' crone! :-)

my VN interview
-
How did you get to where you are now?
Choices and chances and the help of gracious, generous people who saw a spark in me and wanted to help me fan it into a flame. I only hope I am living a life worthy of all their assistance.
-
How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?
I see myself. I no longer see all the should haves, could haves, and if onlys. I see me. I keep trying to improve, but only because I want to, not because I am driven to do so.
-
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I can only imagine.....
I hope it is me still working (at something I love to do), still writing (hopefully fabulously insightful books and articles), teaching, (and being great at it) and doing something that I can't even imagine yet....And yes, I hope all this occurs in a lovely coastal town where I feel as if I am "home" again with great friends and colleagues.
a postcard to my younger self
Give yourself a break. You are fabulous. Don't blow your incredible youth on insecurities created by people whose opinons don't matter.
my role models
People who do the correct thing even when no one is looking.
People who instinctively make things better without any visible effort.
People who are kind, loyal and honest.
