Female masturbation: Ride toys up the ante from simple vibrator use

Vibrant Nation member “Enjoying New Life” is doing just that! She’s a recently single woman who said she has read the medical studies that “say us 50 year old non-sexually active women need to masturbate in order to not dry up like a prune.”

Member Scribbler added, “Your body is your own personal temple. Treat it with love and respect. ‘Use it or lose it’ applies here — not to mention your sanity is involved. Research indeed that for once has solid merit.”

Joan Price, Vibrant Nation member, writer, speaker, and advocate for ageless sexuality, agrees with the “Use it or Lose it” principle.

“‘Use it or Lose it’ — this is truer than you may realize,” she said. “…by bringing blood flow to the genitals, we keep them healthy and easy to arouse.”

Without regular use, vaginal tissues become fragile and sex can become painful. Experts recommend regular vaginal sex after menopause because it helps to preserve the thickness and moisture of vaginal tissues, combats female dryness, and also maintains the vagina’s length and width. But what if you have no partner? Unfortunately, illness, death, divorce and lots of other issues leave some women no choice but to choose a sexual partner she may not be ready for, not have sex, or turn to dildo and vibrator use.

I love that you’re expanding our view of what kinds of sex toys are available for women these days. I had a terrible experience with the iRide, however. The insertable part is 1.6″ diameter, and a vibrating hard rubber penis of that girth is neither comfortable not pleasurable. If I were younger, or if I had a regular partner, this would not be a problem. But if you’re like me (over 60, no regular partner), you might want to read my iRide review here.
