There is a very nice, successful man who I really thought I could connect with. He first wife died, his second wife…20 years younger, very blonde, very pretty…left with lots of stuff in tow. I figured this very nice man might be interested in someone a little closer to his age; maybe he was ready for a real relationship.
Our paths crossed a few times, and he didn’t express anything other than a friendly exchange.
Last week I learned he is pursuing a colleague of mine who is…you guessed it…20 years younger than him and very, very blonde.
Did my self-esteem suffer? Nope. Bless his heart. If you are from the south, you know what that really means

“Nope. Bless his heart. If you are from the south, you know what that really means ”
I’m from the south, and YES, I know what this really means, sly one. And your reference made me laugh.
Girl, you’re a woman now!!
You go girl! Let the sucker go through it again. He deserves what he gets. Like Forest Gump says, “Stupid is as Stupid does”. I have a coffee cup from Bubba Gump’s Shrimp restaurant that says that on it. Reminds me of who, and what, I should be every morning when I have my coffee.
The problem with men like that (as if there’s only one!) is that they’re not thinking very clearly. Women our age offer so much more. We’re more experienced in bed and likely to provide him w/ a better time. With us the conversation is better because we’re actually from the same time period.
They’re missing the boat on this one. And, you’re fortunate that he didn’t bite. He doesn’t sound like he’s thinking with his big brain!
