As I look ahead to turning 67 this fall, I am still lucky enough to get compliments on my skin. Although I would like to be able to say “I’m just lucky,” the truth is there are a few products I am using that are guaranteed to make a difference in the overall texture, coloration, and aging process of your skin.
|
|
1. TNS Recovery Complex A gel that reduces fine lines, lightens age spots and improves the texture of your skin.
|
 |
2. NIA24 24-Hour prevention, repair and protection from sun and pollution.
|
|
|
3. Revaleskin A night cream with the highest anti-oxidant available, with coffeeberry extract. If you had to choose only one, this would be the one.
|
|
4. Skincerity For use at night. A roll-on mask that seals the nightcream overnight. Developed in the lab for burn patients, it heals wrinkles as if they are scars. Remarkable!
|
Personally, I include a Retinol
serum at night, but I know that isn’t for everyone. Each one of these
products will produce amazing results and they are all available on the
internet.
Whether or not you choose to share this information with your
girlfriends is totally up to you. A well-kept secret can be very
beneficial, but then you’ll have to deny all rumors that you’ve had a
facelift. Good luck with that.

What do you use to cleanse?
This woman MUST not live in todays world..IF you bought all of those products for JUST 1 MONTH it would cost well over $400.00..one product line did not even GIVE IT’S PRICE…this space is suppossed to be for REAL WOMEN…and the real woman today who is over 50…most of us are struggeling with the high cost of living, housing…and in some cases MOVING our GROWN children BACK into our “EMPTY NEST”…so I guess I will JUST HAVE TO LOOK 64…and buy my soaps & moisturizers at WALMART!!!!! But thank you for letting me know how the other 1/3 live!!
I’m with you, Kelly. I just had to choose between taking my dog to the vet and paying my mortgage this month, Iand I was lucky I could manage one! Some women our age are wealthy, but most are struggling. We need practical help.
hi,
i was thinking the same thing after reading that. it left me frustrated.
well.. not to mention the whole idea of loving your beautiful aging self with pride and care. there are a lot of natural products that take care of your skin. a good sunscreen is cheap and there are so so so many lovely products that are safe and environmentally sound..
Google it. love your skin and your self. and spend the money on soemthing nice for yourself.. like a book that talks about downsizing in a way that doesnt make you feel poverty stricken.
Kelly, you are right. Most women cannot afford these products right now.
Kelly – I’m so glad that you wrote! I don’t have a penny to my name, but I know that most women do not drink enough water or juice. We don’t want to be running to pee all the time! We need to drink more water to stay hydrated to avoid a lot of medical problems – and it helps the skin - the largest organ in the body. But, don’t drink a lot of water after 6pm – you will be awake all night!
I agree – the best way to treat your skin is take care of the rest of your body – here is a little hub I wrote on the subject:
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Age-Gracefully
I also do not have hundreds of dollars a month to spend on anti-aging products.
I agree with you. I live paycheck to paycheck. I’m 53 and it is hard running a household by yourself. Thank God for Walmart! I would love to have all of the fancy products to take care of my skin that people talk about, but I cannot afford them.
I buy ROC made by Johnson & Johnson at Costco; the packages come with 2 day creams and 1 night creams and they’re $30 per package and last a long time. I’ve noticed the lines minimizing and the scent is nice.
Uh huh…and only her plastic surgeon knows the truth. Please…spare me the crapola!
Has anyone tried the galvanic spa? I just ordered one and I have used it twice. Need a few testimonials!
I am new today to this website, and I was very intersted in your posting. I am going to try your night cream, as the one I use is almost gone (needing replacement), but I found it to be a bit greasy. Thank you for all of your suggestions
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I turned 69 this past summer.
I am so glad to hear, make that read, that so many women agreed with me..I thought that I was the lone hold out on EXPENSIVE anti-aging creams..In todays market they are now trying to get you to buy a product for only shipping cost….DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!! It is just another marketing ploy to pluck money out of our checking acccounts or credit cards..anyone out there that has been scammed??? Like the FAMOUSE cleanse and akaberrie??? Kelly
It’s a very good suggestion to avoid commiting to an arrangement on the internet to experiment with creams and weight loss pills. Yes, especially the ones that claim you only pay for shipping. What you might not realize is that when you provide your credit card for shipping, the company will take that as your commitment to receive a monthly supply of their product, which they will automatically bill to your credit card. It’s a “sleight of hand” move on their part, but if you don’t read everything carefully, they have you by the you-know-what and it takes a few billing cycles to get it all straightened out.
The skin care items I have recommended are pricey, but as I have suggested, you get what you pay for. These are cutting edge products with the latest skin technology available. There are less expensive products, to be sure, and some of them can offer visable improvements. I acquire these products through my dermatologist, who provides his expertise and research on each item. I presented them as products that deliver on their promise of results, not a scam. For myself, I would rather pay a little more for something that works than throw money away on something that does not deliver on its promise, and walk away feeling scammed and cheated.
Thank you for your reviews.
I certainly understand the responses of those who wouldn’t and/or couldn’t pay those prices for face cream (being one of those persons myself) …
but on the other hand if these products work as well as you say, then there is surely a robust market of people who have those priorities !
I think that in between formulas like these on the one hand, and worthless products on the other, are a great many “pretty good” ones in an affordable range. Thankfully, there is now a trend toward commissioning independent studies of their results, as we saw last summer with Boots No.7.
Hi Vieille! Yes, there are “pretty good” products in just about every price range. The Olay products and the Roc products are affordable, accessible and deliver at least moderate benefits. If and when a person wants to invest a little more for a bit more dramatic result, those products are plentiful, as well. Recently, a friend of mine introduced me to a facial technique that has blown me away. It’s a home facial treatment with a galvanic instrument that has literally changed my jawline. Surgery no longer the only option for erasing verticle lines around the mouth and cheeks, actually pulling the jawline UP, as if surgically accomplished. This is facial revolution!!! The Calvary has arrived!!
Judy, I just wrote a reply to you, but it disappeared when I tried to send it …will be back hopefully late tonight !
Have a great evening,
V.
Hello again Judy,
I am very interested in hearing more about this galvanic instrument you mentioned !
One thing I now know is also effective, is facial exercise. I didn’t buy the package which is often sold, but rather just “stole with my eyes” some of the free ones on YouTube …and the difference in my face in the last two months is beyond dispute. I just do them while my moisturizer is sinking in.
I know you are correct about Olay Regenerist but the corporation (Procter & Gamble) does cruel and unnecessary animal testing (totally unnecessary because humans would gladly test the products for a little money and the results would be even more applicable) so because they refuse to stop doing those, I don’t want any part of their enterprise.
However, I have been using Boots Botanics and the No. 7 Intense which is a little less expensive even than Regenerist, PLUS I recently bought a cold laser. I figured the cold laser could help with my husband’s occasional back pain as well as be useful in an anti-aging regimen for me. I have not done it yet on my face or hands, only on my upper outer thighs for cellulite. It is not one of those wimpy cold lasers; it’s a high powered one.
Please elaborate on the galvanic thing if you get a chance.
Have a beautiful Sunday everyone,
V.
Hi Vieille! I came back to this site to check on your reponse to the post I left you yesterday. I see it did not print and I have hopes you will receive this as I try again. As I explained, the galvanic instrument gives positive and negative currents, facilitated by a gel. I can’t comment on the technical process, but I can surely speak to the results. I’ve only been using it for a month and so far the changes on my face are nothing short of remarkable. The laugh lines around my mouth have totally disappeared and that little loose fold of skin under the chin? Magic! It’s gone and in fact, the whole jaw line has tightened up. I read recently that Cher uses galvanic treatments to keep her face tight. She must be tired of all that surgery. To me, this is the most exciting item to come down the pike…it makes any facial products obsolete. Oh, and by the way, comes with a serum for the face that makes the skin feel like silk. If you want more information, I can put you in touch with my friend who turned me on to it.
I would like to know your recommendations for which galvanic treatment to use that has given you such great results. I have the same problems – fold of chin skin, loss of jawline tone. This sounds very exciting!
Hi Katielli! This galvanic spa home treatment has really impressed me. I don’t know how to identify it for you today because I am out of town without it, but if you like, I can have my friend (through whom I purchased it) email you or forward your email to someone who can provide information. I would be happy to do that for you. I have been using it religiously since I made that posting and can brag even louder about its results. It’s worth every dollar I paid for it and continues to justify itself.
Would love to have info on the system you use. I ‘googled’ but there is TMI out there! Ha!
If you feel comfortable giving me your email, I will have my friend contact you.
Hi Judy,
I am interested in learning more about the galvanic treatment, as well.
My e-mail is cord2628@yahoo.com
thanks,
Hi DaisyMae! I will forward your email address to my friend and someone will contact you about the galvanic treatments. Good luck to you, too!
I am also very interested in which galvanic treatment you used. I ‘googled’ but there is TMI out there! How can I receive this information? Thanks!
Thanks for the tips I use 2 of them and will check out the others and I think I am looking forward to my 66th in November? I am in the progress of getting 3 Triniti’s of 3 different lasers. What do you think of them? And last but not least, are you really looking forward to your 67th?
Oh and forgot to mention that messing around with anti aging stuff is fun. And now that I am retired and the caregiver for my husband with ALS don’t have many fun things to do. And since he can’t yell at me any more for spending money on myself, why not? Yea if I out live him I’ll probably be a poor old street lady but 30% of people like me die first.
Hi Sandra! You didn’t say which of the products you are using, but I hope one of them is the Skincerity. It can be applied over whatever else you use and it creates a masque that holds the products underneath in place through the night. Recently, my boyfriend had a mohs surgery on his face that left a rather big angry scar. I started putting the Skincerity on it at night and the scar melted away, leaving a tiny line barely visible to the eye. Skincerity was developed in the research lab to heal burn victims. I met the lady who invented it in Texas. She has since sold the company, but the product remains remarkable. Don’t know much about the Triniti.
Actually, I AM looking forward to my 68th birthday in October. I am busy, healthy, and productive. I have friends, I work, I excercise, have a beautiful grandchild to care about. Life is good.
What I do know is that being someone’s caretaker is not easy, but very demanding and difficult. I wish you strength and endurance for what lies ahead. I hope you have people in your life who are supportive and helpful. Remember that every kindness will come back to you.
