Remember the good old days when the touch of his hand or the sound of his voice would send you into a sexual frenzy? Now getting in the mood requires a generous amount of alcohol, a few hours of decent foreplay, and several items purchased at an unmentionable on-line site that arrives at your doorstep wrapped in discreet paper. And even that isn’t always enough!
Yes, the days of getting turned on in an instant are becoming a distant memory along with other things, like looking good in a tube top and being able to talk our way out of a speeding ticket just by batting our eyes.
But that doesn’t mean you should stop having sex. Sex is good for you. It’s good for your heart. It’s good for your spirit. And it’s even good for your waistline. (Anything that burns calories is always a good thing!) So let’s take a look at what you can do to turn up the flames in your cooling sex life.
- Talk to your doctor about taking testosterone.
It could increase you libido without causing you to grow facial hair or develop the need to scratch your genitals in public. - Get a lubricant.
Hormone changes can cause your vagina to be as dry as a Bond martini. Fortunately, there are plenty of options available at your local drug store that can help. There are lubricants that heat up, and ones that are gender specific that double your fun when mixed together. - Don’t eat a heavy meal before bedtime.
Carbohydrates make you sluggish so the only thing you’ll crave in bed is a good nights rest. - Give yourself time to transition.
Unlike men who have the unique ability to get turned on at the drop of a hat (or actually by watching a woman bend over to pick up said dropped hat), we need time to change gears after having a long day. - If all else fails, ask your partner to do a load of laundry, clean the kitchen, or provide any other household task that you hate doing.
This technique is called “chore-play.” As you watch him, you’ll feel all loving and grateful which, in turn, will make you more willing to perform one of his favorite tasks in return!
