1. Cardigans
They are still very “in,” especially the longer ones that can easily layer your look for interest, warmth, and hide a multitude of–you know…
2. Classic bags
Chanel, anything Hermes, Tod’s, etc., were investments that keep on giving (better than most retirement funds!)
3. Safari inspired anything
A classic look that morphs into many looks that are often ageless.
4. Sailor stripes and naval inspired looks
…especially if horizontal stripes are flattering to your body. Just don’t do the look “head-to-toe” cutesy.
5. Fuchsia is the hot color, but so is nude pink.
Make sure you wear either color to work with your skin tone–unless you just say “yes” to an inexpensive fuchsia bag.
6. Bold jewelry
The caveat is that it isn’t cutesy, gimmicky, or junky.
7. Pencil skirts
…with all kinds of tops.
8. Whole outfits, layered in soft flesh toned hues
Pale and delicate, luxe-yet-earthy ensembles.
9. The trench
It’s a classic that has many twists. Like it’s cousin “the safari look” it has an ageless appeal.
10. Statement accessories, like large real or faux, snakeskin bags
I like the neutral toned ones best!

Living way out in the country makes it difficult to be in the KNOW. I appreciate something for women that want to remain ALIVE and part of the present world. Thank you for contributing a way to KNOW.
I like the idea of fashion trends coming from someone in my age group vs younger trends. What looks good on a 50+ year old woman is much different than those fashions that the 20-45 year old groups can wear. So the broader the vision and inclusion of the 50+ woman is wonderful

So true!
You’ll appreciate “Steal This Style”(Random House, April 14, 2009) after “Forever Cool”. It carries this exact discussion forward.
