The International Women's Writing Guild promotes the empowerment and personal growth of women through the written word. Their conferences are always packed, and it's no wonder. They are exceptionally inspirational. You don't have to be a writer - perhaps you simply have a story to tell, and are wondering how or where to begin. Come to the next one on April 18th & 19th, in NYC. On Saturday, Lisa Dale Norton will give a full day workshop on "The Compassionate Memoir." On Sunday, six authors tell how they completed the missing chapters of Liz Aleshire's 101 Ways You Can Help: How to Offer Comfort and Support to Those Who Are Grieving (Source Books, '09) while the author, now deceased, lay dying in the hospital. There will also be a panel of literary agents who will speak, and to whom writers will be invited to pitch. Go to www.iwwg.com for more details and to sign up.
