if you have thyroid issues you MUST not have soy within x number of hours of your meds..as it interferes with absorption..

thanks for posting this. I’ve been on thyroid meds for almost 50 years and have never heard of this. not that I was looking. I just take my meds everyday and never think about it. And never been sick either. My thyroid gland was destroyed by a bad bad case of whooping cough as a child.
Yep, I’m on synthroid, and that’s the cardinal rule!
I guess I should read the thing that comes with the meds,
I’ve been on synthroid my whole life, well since I was 11 years old. next time I get a refill I will read it.
I asked my endocrinologist about whether or not I should stay away from soy, and he seemed to feel that it was fine in moderation, and of course, consumed several hours after one has taken the synthroid!
Yes, that is what mine said…and added by moderation he meant no soy(funny guy) he thought perimenopausal women tended to go a bit wacko(his word) with trendy things that have no proof of working and he was sure soy was one of those things…I suppose If I liked soy I would go ahead and use it but i find yogurt works fine in my smoothies and hot flashes are not botherrsome to me soooo…
