We bought a TempurPedic Memory Foam mattress a year ago. It took us a little while to decide that we LOVE this mattress.
I am very warm bodied when I sleep. Our mattress came with a 2 month return for nearly full refund guarantee & believe me it nearly got returned. I was way to warm for comfortable sleep. I tried a mattress pad which just added to the heat. One is not supposed to use one on this type mattress but I tried it anyway. We had the recommended zipper mattress protector which is supposed to be all that that you use to cover your mattress under the bottom sheet. STILL TOO HOT.
Not giving up easily, as I loved the wonderful comfort of this mattress, I purchased a very thin 100% cotton woven blanket & placed it between the bottom sheet & the zipper pad. This solved the over heated feeling for us.
This mattress delivers the best night sleep that I have ever had. Both my husband & I have back issues but not one ache or pain is present after a good nights sleep. It was worth all of the effort that it took to make it work for us.

Oh my gosh! I felt your inner pain ... and I apologize for the fact that when I got to the part about setting your hair on fire, I laughed. I'm so glad you weren't hurt, and hair grows back. Perhaps a new hair-do would not only rectify the situation 
There is no such thing as a legal separation in my state..The only way I can get husband out of the house is to force him out..He refuses to leave..I would have to file for divorce and get temporary orders including a restraining order..

Tempur-Pedic Mattress is worth every penny! 2/3 of our life is spent sleeping, not to mention the “fun” that goes on there! So, why not splurge!
Just bought the TP and I am enjoying it. My husband thinks it is hot, but really hard to say since it is summer. It feels like a hug. There is a learning curve as you just don’t roll over easily but I think of it is a core exercise to reach for the night stand.
Haralee, You said that your hubby finds your mattress to hot. If you are not using 100% cotton sheets in a higher thread count you might want to give them a try. I only purchase 100% cotton sheets for all seasons. I vary which ones I choose to use according to the season. The crisper sheets seem to be a bit cooler than the softer ones as the soft ones hug in around you but are exceleent for cooler weather. Cotton sheets breath. They are not like sheets that contain synthetic fibers. Synthetic fiber sheets (poly/cotton blends) are either very hot in the summer or very cool in winter. They act the reverse of what we might prefer. Anyway*** This has been my realization after many, many (50) years of being the one that makes those choices for my home.

I have a 3 inch memory foam mattress I bought online. I did a lot of research before the purchase. Here’s the secret. Memory foam knock-offs are sold by weight. Not the weight of the whole mattress. I think it’s the weight of a square foot. The heavier, the better. Look for 5lbs if you are looking to replicate that TP feeling of being hugged. 3 inch wide really made a difference and was about $400 cheaper than the full mattress.
