CindyO, I’d love more info on Hashimotos and your nutritional program. I’ve had 2/3′s of my thyroid removed and I have ALL of those symptoms! Help!

Hi Carolann, I came across your post doing research on my health issues and your symptoms are so similar to mine (sleepless nights, night sweats, major weight gain), but mine are mostly related to hypothyroidism or Hashimotos. I recently started an incredible nutritional program that in 2 months is really giving me my life and health back. I have lost 15 lbs and lots of inches, which has been very impossible for me for the past 10 yrs. It isn’t medicine…it is food!
I am so grateful I found it. I totally understand how you feel and hope it may help you too!

So many women are hypothyroid and are not getting the care they need because of doctors who don’t know how to care for them. Also, there are many women out there that don’t even know they are hypothyroid because of these same doctors. You mentioned weight gain. It might be due to ill advised thyroid therapy.

Hi Robin!
It really does suck! I hope someday I can be one of the people with positive results. You would think in NY there would be more doctors to help with this. Most of the ones I’ve been to were more concerned about child birth and fertility. I feel like when they see me come in, they are thinking “Oh NO! Here comes another Menopause Mary!!”.
I hope you get to your “happy” place!! The only Wiley protocol I have experienced was more Wiley Coyote!! Thank god I have a sense of humor and don’t own any weapons!!

I was on HRT and doing tremendously well. I had a new healthcare adviser since the doctor I loved had left the market. The new person tested my blood and made a minor adjustment to my estrogen. That was over two years ago and I’ve been the queen of sweat ever since! I dumped her after a year of battle and took another year to find someone I really liked.
My new doc comes highly recommended so I was very optimistic. She put me on the Wiley Protocol and suffice it to say – things got much worse before getting better. That started in January and we’ve tweaked things so that I’m a little better in some ways – at least she’s giving it the old college try – but I’d overdue for some positive results. I’ve learned some things that surprised me and I now think the sweating and weight gain is more thyroid related than hormone now – but time will tell.
Just know that you’re not alone – and it really sucks! I did go through a bout of rage and weeping – apparently that was from a diet pill that my GP had put me on – who knew that these symptoms can flair up out of the blue after months without problem. Live and learn – and please god – fix this!

Wow, thank you for all of your comments. I am in New York, so I’m not aware of “body logic”.

I am also seeing my third endrocrinologist as well. I have hypothyroidism and she just throws pills at me (Levo) and tells me to use weight watchers…

I have been on 4 different compounds of bio-identical hormones and have had some terrible side effects and no results. THis is going on for about 3 years. I am constantly going to doctors, searching and seeing different doctors, one guy almost killed me! He had me on so much Levo and Liothyronine my blood pressure went through the roof.

I really love yoga, but on top of everything else I now have arthritis in my knees and bakers cysts?? So alot of exercises are extremely painful!! I am going to start yoga again for the meditations alone help. I will definitely investigate all of your suggestions!! Thank you so very much!!!

I totally agree with Lynda. I started body logic about 2 years ago after suffering all the same symptoms you describe. You do regular blood tests and adjust, and it’s all bio-identical hormones. I get diet information as well. It’s not cheap, but I could not have kept going the way I was!

If you don’t live near a body logic doctor, find a specialist that will do bio-identical and have the prescription filled at a compounding pharmacy. I tried regular doctors first and they just wanted to put me on synthetics – one wanted me to use a brand that would make my period come back! NO THANKS.

I have been seeing my doctor for 5 months now and it has changed my life. BodyLogic was recommended by my husband’s cardiologist (whose wife is also a client).

I don’t know what state you are in, and the doctors affiliated are sometimes a distance away but it is truly worth the time and effort! I have recommended it to several people ~~ all are very happy with the results.

Just wondering if you’ve tried yoga or daily walking? I know you can be fit and have HP as well. Or have you tried rescue remedy for stress? You can find it a local natural food store/vitamin cottage. Just a few ideas.
