Recently I met with a health/lifestyle coach at The Center for Integrative Health because I seem to be at a transitional point in my life. I’m open for making changes in my diet. Plus, I started exercising 50 min. at the local gym at least 3x weekly and yoga 1x weekly. I have pretty much stopped eating meat (maybe grass fed poultry every now and then); however, I do eat wild caught salmon/tuna. I’m in awe of those of you who talk about doing 15+ mile hikes. I love nature and deep inside I’m this hiker girl but I haven’t hiked more than a 5-6 miles. My weight is not where I want it to be, and that’s frustrating. I’ve cut out white foods (sugar, flour, etc) and have finally stopped drinking diet sodas! I eat mostly whole grains (I never realized there were so many options…kahmut, quinoa, spelt, munh bean vermicelli, bean thread noodles, brown rice pasta, sprouted wheat…whew!) and fresh veggies, fruit, soy milk, rice milk, almond milk… I even baked fresh greens drizzled with EVOO & seasoning and made green chips! The thing is…I could really use some more advice and menu suggestions…by the way, my decision to give up eating meat (at least 90% of the time) is influenced by the enviromental factors, such as the excessive methane gas produced by mass produced livestock…that kind of thing. I’m into buying organic produce from a local farm a few miles away. Anyway…I’m would love to hear from like-minded women out there!
