I am always itchy.

i do not know what it is, but i am always itchy.  I am tempted to have a fumigator come and do the whole house.  Have u had a similar experience?  Yes, i bathe daily, sometimes twice a day.  I do feel that when it is at night, i take another shower and it subsides.  Sometimes even my head itches.

My guess is that maybe you are bathing too much.  I have had dry skin most of my life and have finally figured out that I was just washing my natural skin oils away.  I now shower about once a week and take “spit baths” for my  more intimate areas when needed.  I also use a good non allergic skin lotion after I shower.  I have had really good luck with a lotion called CeraVe.  I have a lot of allergies and also rinse the pollen and dust from my hair every night before I go to bed.

I live in So Florida, if i bathed once a week nobody would want to be near me.  I will moisturize more though.  I also suspect the hair color since i have to do my hair about every two weeks now.

Lynnette, Don’t use hot water, it should be skin temp or a little bit warmer, you’re washing your oils out! Use Olive Oil/cold cream soaps and don’t dry off, but wipe yourself with wash cloth to dry n when damp put on your creams n oils. ten(10) minute showers…TRACK…too many showers!

P.S. If you mix cold cream with any cream or lotion you like even better, but not greasy. I use Cetaphil n cold cream…TRACK

thanks ladies, i think you are right.  This morning i used baby oil with vit e and alo vera and did not itch all day!  I divided my hair and put morrocan oil and it helped.  Hair looked nice too :)   But i went on the internet and this problem is more common than we think.  People have been suffering w/different aspects of itching for years!

I have had that problem when I’ve gone off antihistamines. And when I go back on the itching stops. Many docs recommend Benadryl for itching. Drying out the skin can absolutely contribute to that, but itching that bad usually requires both Benadryl and dry skin remedies. Skin So Soft by Avon is a good product and anything with oatmeal helps itching – Aveeno products. Good luck – that is NO fun!

Thanks. I was in the hospital for a dog bite for a few days and was given massive amounts of antibiotics. I do not know if that has anything to do with it. BUT decided to moisturize a lot and it is helping. Also, washed my hair by lathering twice after the coloring and it seems to be helping.

BTW has the site changed format? Never saw it like this before. Coool!
