How about some expert advice from the dental field?

I have been reading Lynne’s posting about her struggle maintaining healthy teeth and gums, and wonder why we don’t see more articles written by dentists, endodontists, and other specialists people of our age are likely to need.  Thoughts?

    I learned from working at a dental college how important it is to floss every day. I was very bad about this in the past, and thought that my bleeding gum problem couldn’t be helped unless I went to a periodontist. Not true.

    I started flossing 3 times a day for a few months and noticed a difference right away. I won’t go into gross details, but I went from seeing red in the sink every morning to nothing.

    Now, I only floss at night and still have perfect check ups. No more threats about referring me to an periodontists.

      My father was an oral surgeon.  I worked in his office, and if I heard it once, I heard it a thousand times – “People don’t lose their teeth because of too many cavities, they lose their teeth because they don’t floss!”  I’ve become so conscious of food lodging between my teeth, I have those little stimudents in each of my handbags for quick “touch-ups” whenever I eat out.  
      Keep on flossing!
