Hormones gone crazy

I take BioIdentical hormones and they are great.

But at times my arms, feet & hands itch like crazy.  No rashs.

When I take my hormones – Progeterone and BiEstrogen it stops.  Which one is doing the trick?

I have no idea, why not ask your doctor?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but have a question about the bioidentical hormones.  I asked my family doc. about checking my hormone levels because I think I need the hormones, but she (yes, have a female doctor) told me at my age I didn’t need to worry about them.  Did you have a hard time finding a doctor to give you the hormones — was it your gyn to prescribed them for you.  Needless to see I’m looking for a new doctor!

GOD!  Traditional Doctors know NOTHING (nor care) about Replacement Hormones.  Yes, I have found a hard time finding this type of doctor.  Two of them, I had to pay $250 per appointment.  I kept looking. . . Then when I finally found one or two that would cover it under insurance, I had been through 4 doctors.  Then….the third and fourht had completley opposite ideas on how to treat it.  My hormones had me crying for no reason for over 3 months, not to mention the absolute loss of my memory and foggy thinking.  It was terrible.

I have tried to educate myself using Suzan winters books and others, but again they all contradict each other.  So I am lucky that my doctor gives me drops for Progesterone and BiEstrogen, so that I can experiament drop by drop as to what works.  But I am still confused by it all.  Fortunately, I am stable, not crying and got my wits about me on this doctors regime.

OK.  Yes gyn are the logical choice, but I have stuck out with many of them.  For some reason, all the doctors that do this are involved in Liposuction, boTox, restilin injections and all other beauty treatments.  No wonder, it is the declining hormones that make our skin thin, dry and waxy. (and open us up to heart disease).  But these also may not be covered under insurance.  Believe me it was a trial and error, and word of mouth that set me on my searches.  Surprisingly, I found several on the internet that will do it remotely and by phone.  I did not try them, but they sounded like a great option.  Women-to-woman is one great website.

      Good luck.
