Health Commission

I’m rather new to this group of ladies.  I just wonder if I’m the only one that is worried about this health commission that has been set up by the government on that large amount of money set aside from the Stimulus Bill for health care.  Some of the names on that commission are worrisome.  Dr. Emanuel, Rahm’s brother is on it and some of the things he has written is frightening!  Let’s face it, we are all over 50 and the nearer we get to retirement age the more health problems will show up.  I hate to admit that but it is true!!  He thinks many old age issues should go uncovered, because old peoples’ usefulness to society is minimal.  That sounds very heartless to me.  A lot of us have older parents who are still living and active and we obviously don’t want to give them a pain pill and set them in a corner to die just because they can’t give much to help society anymore.  They already did!!  And if I may say so, left us a pretty darn good place to live.  Is anyone else concerned about this?

Welcome Chenea…..I’m new here as well.  Yes I am very concerned about this.  In fact, I’m concerned about all that we know about this health care debacle and I’m sure there is even more that we aren’t aware of.  The idea of setting up “death panels” is frightening and maddening.  The government has no business counseling seniors on what their options are.  This is something that should be strictly between family.  The government keeps inserting itself where it is not wanted and where they do not belong.  I’m concerned with many that BHO seems to be surrounding himself with.  As he said in one of his debates, you can judge a person by the company they keep, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Van Jones, Dr. Emanuel and the list goes on.

How about Donald Rumsfelt, Paul Wolfowitz, John Yoo, Albert Gonzales, David Addington, Scooter Libby, John Hagee, Bob Jones University, Karl Rove, Otto Reich, Elliot Abrams, david  Safavian, Kyle Foggo, Monica Gooding, Michael Brown aka “heck of a job Brownie”

This  a partial list of people associated with the Bush administration who have been convicted or have had their reputations sullied during their tenure.   Sp if you are really concerned about judging people by the company people keep, this speaks volumes about the Bush family.  If you can make excuses for these people and yet condemn what you think oba are bad choices made by  Obama your double standard speaks volumes to your prejudices

Some one said: People get the government they deserve.

I’m very concerned and feel very helpless.

While it’s true we took our eye off the ball, our biggest mistake was that we trusted blindly.  We did our civic duty and voted and once this was done we trusted that those we put our faith in would do the jobs they were sent to do.  Unfortunately, they got power hungry and greedy.  I now have faith that those who took their eyes off the ball are aware and working to rectify their mistakes.  You must have faith too moongoddes.  Without this, what do we have?

I feel helpless too sometimes, but I try to keep myself informed. A great “side effect” of trying to search out the facts is that it has connected me with many lovely and knowlegdeable people that feel the same way I do. I think together we can all make a difference.

Moongoddess, She’s right.  We went to sleep for awhile, but many are waking up.  We need to read and study about these things and then tell everyone we talk to, because there are alot that haven’t realized it yet.  Thank you Beckmyster for the welcome.  I agree that the government is getting into way too many things that it should not be in and running things they shouldn’t be running.  More people need to wake up to stop it.

Hi Chenea, I am most definitely comcerned about this. Ezekiel Emmanuel is the White House Health Care Policy advisor and a proponent of the ”Complete Lives System”. Along with two others he published Principles for allocations of scarce medical services.  http://www.ncpa.org/pdfs/PIIS0140673609601379.pdf Particularly dismaying is the chart on page six.

I can see a lot of posts on this healthcare issue. i guess my problem is when i listen to some of these talk radio stations, I get disgusted b/c they speak negative of President Obama without getting the facts. Unfortunately, a lot of the healthcare won’t kick in until four years from now, and those who need it badly might not be here to see the change. But I beleive throughout the years the government will tweak it to fit most of our needs.

There isn’t much President Obama can do without support of the House. Not many people wanted the public option, but I think they will regret that decision in the end. People keep comparing Roosevelts plan to Obamas, but that was a different time and era. He is dealing with too many issues: wars, international affairs, terriost, not to mention all those other in between all that mess. We just need to pray for him and his family that they will be safe b/c there are some angry people out there towards his ideals.
