Sure do..Hashimoto’s disease , aka underactive thyroid. I’ve been on synthroid for years. I can always tell when my medication needs to be adjusted. My thyroid issues run in the family, both of my brothers and mother had underactive thyroid glands.
i’m not a pill taker. are there side effects from this med
Hmm, This medication turned my life around…guess everyone has to do what they feel is right for them. Have you asked for suggestions from a doctor or other health practitioner?
thanks, i have a dr appt next month
I took synthroid in my 20′s and 30′s. Then my thyroid seemed to kick in and I kept taking less and less until I didn’t need it. I’m in my late 60′s now. Last time I had my TSH checked, it was borderline high. My naturopath suggested bladderwrack (seaweed). I have been taking it for about a year now and my hot flashes and night sweats have gone away and I’m feeling great!
thanks for your input
My thyroid has been out of wack for so long. I started out at .15 mcg, now i teeter between .150 and .175 mcg. I struggle with my weight all the time.

I’ve cut back on sugar and sweets and have lost 13 lbs in 3 months.
i’ll see what my dr suggests next m onth at my appt
After taking my temp every morning before geting out of bed and finding it to be too low, it was suggested to me by my chiropactor that I should take iodine supplements. I had been steadily gaining weight for over a year. I am 53 in good health and taking the iodine helped to raise my body temp and seemed to kick start my metabolism. Ask your naturopath or health practitoner about this.
The thyroid pills help but not completely. I just started taking Biontin in mgs (online, all the storys I went to only had mcgs a smaller amout of Biotin). Biotin not only helps your hair, nails, and skin it helped my thyroid. Biotin is your Vit. B”s.
Now I felel a 100 %.
